Seems to be a lot of info from someone at Skyward (still employed?)--
If they were such a terrible airline--can someone explain why they didn't have as many problems as some of the other airlines still flying--wonder what is really going on here--something just isn't right--any real ideas out there?
Skyward will fly again!!!!!

Yeah, but that 80% was government money for providing a service - medical travel and medevacs, same as Perimeter.
Big difference from the handout/bailout they are looking for now.
If Skyward deserves it, so does every other airline that services the north in Canada.

I agree, I think that all of canada would be in a bit of an uproar if the government bailed out Skyward when there are other airlines lined up to take over the government work.
You guys at Perimeter must be getting a little tired out though, if you are anything like us you have been flying your bags off. Any plans on putting a few extra aircraft in YTH?

We are all flying our bags off, it is good though - sked guys are paid by the mile.
Hiring 4 new FOs this month with more probably next month. YTH base expansion, MORE new (to us) airplanes.
Exciting times at Perimeter.
Unfortunately it's at the expense of another company.

seems to be a lot of information--but here is some that isn't on the site--Skyward has not ever received any type of help from anyone--other companies apply for grants etc and are given them--so maybe this is what Skyward should do--if they haven't--There are two sides to every coin and maybe some people would do well to look at the reverse side--Skyward employed close to 300 people, operated on its own for 18 years, does a lot of work in the communites no one ever hears about, will go the extra mile when there is a need-without charging people going through extremely rough times. Perhaps looking at it this way may make some people ponder--what is really going on here?? The fact of the matter is--there is a lot of people out of work, a lot of monies not being re introduced into the economy, hardships for families, and why--seems to me a lowly on the fringe onlooker there are some tough questions to be answered after this is all over-after all "we are looking for people to explore Northern Manitoba" is it any wonder why we are not better developed when this type of thing happens to a good company, doing good things, employing a lot of people, helping a lot of people, etc

Would you please explain why you think this?

Chantal,
Judging you on your inability to make sense in any post on this site, I would say that "I don't think they should have ever hired you in the first place!" Oh yeah, obviously nobody was spying on skyward, or they would have been shut down long before TC pulled up, saw some things that shocked and scared them, and pulled the OC. At first your posts were comical...now they require an interpreter.

Skyward Aviation Limited--what does it mean these days? A company who has a clean safety record for 18 years--a company that grew from 5 planes, a company that employed 250 plus people, a company who is always there for people, a company which is now struggling to keep the above intact--and what is seen here? Carp, Carp, Carp--Skyward gave you a job, meal, roof over your head--do they owe you personally anything other than maybe your vacation pay? maybe a bit on your contract? maybe a bit of someother money--not--
I am just an onlooker who when there was a major tragedy in my family--I received a call from the Behrendt's making sure we were okay---letting us know if there was anything they could help with to call them--I do not belong to their "church", do not visit them at their home, do see them and talk to them pretty regular, do they owe me--NO--they are doing the very best in a terrible situation--personally this TC shutdown is just not kosher--something rotten in Denmark

Oh god, more with the conspiracy BS.
You think TC honestly has nothing better to do with their time than pick on Skyward? You think 1 guy with a vendetta can keep an airline grounded?
This is getting ridiculous.
Despite what Cat may tell you, there is a certain amount of accountability at TC and I have a very hard time that one or a group of inspectors would be able to keep an airline grounded for no good reason without higher ups having to be involved in the process.
Maybe the entire Prairie region has it out for them.
Maybe it's a national thing.
Maybe Mr. Lafleur himself authorized it.
No, wait, maybe PM is the man behind it all.

Seems the argument of who owes who etc comes up again.
Momz your right- at the end of the day a job is a job, you get paid for your service, the boss makes money and the world goes round. You said the boss was there for you when times were tough. Thats compassion, and quite clearly there probably was compassion, but there was also buisness that never came second to compassion. Don't be fooled! Just cause they wonder how you are does not mean they're perfect- cause they weren't.
As for being owed- try telling that to the pilots who are owed bond money at SKYWARD. Yes the company OWES money to those guys who are hung out to dry paying interest on money they could not afford! That has nothing to do with "sevices due". Same deal as JETSGO! How do you feel about that company!
Finally if anyone thinks it was "TC Plan" to go get Skyward- well I hope you believe in fairies too. You just have to be kidding me!
Correct Skyward never killed anyone, has lots of supporters ra ra ra. Great PR, but is this a measure of safety? No, this is propaganda. And that is something the management will have to learn and wrestle with ie a REAL change in thinking. If they can do this then Skyward will still have something to offer, which I am sure everyone hopes they do......still.
Last thought of the day- I'm getting bored with the perimeter pilot posts- fellas you really have nothing to offer thats new- keep beating it to death, feel smug if you like cause you think in your own pea sized mind that you won something (maybe you never won anything as a kid)-about as stylish as flying a metro in the north for the rest of your life!
By the way- its only a couple of "posters"- clearly they have nothing better to do except try to justify themselves.
No need to point it all out- we all read the same crap!

I say bullshit...I can't see anybody at perimeter making anywhere near $800.00 a day on anything they operate. Are you trying to tell everybody here that you make that on a regular day going from YWG into Northern MB once or twice a day...no extras...overtime premiums...bonus...just your regular line pay?
Ahhhh the truth of the matter...what kind of flt time does it take to "almost" make $400.00 gross pay at Perimeter? Do you actually think you are making serious coin? If you made that in 3 hrs or so and didn't have a 12 hour duty day in the process...got a minimum of 10 to 14 days off in the month I'd say its average...not great but not really bad.
Can't we all just get along?
BTW my name has nothing to do with being an employee at Skyward. I was juust in a rush to leave and had to think of a user name quickly so I can post my reply.
Anyways....
On the threads I've seen involving Skyward all there is are a bunch of pilots or pilot wannabes that are trying to prove who is smarter or who has the most aviation experiance or who makes more money. I say shut the hell up and talk about whats important. We should use these threads to offer support for a company that has offered great service for close to two decades. Yeah they are in a tough spot and sure they might have done something to deserve some of this. But don't you think TC is taking it to them a little hard. There are a lot of companies out there that deserve more then what Skyward has been receiving. Every time Skyward gets back up TC kicks them back down with new policies. Momz I salute you on your continuing support for Skyward.
