Someone will fill the gap, if there is one.

What's everyone think of the commuter survey?

I think that's a whole different subject so it doesn't derail this threadkevin.snaden wrote:What's everyone think of the commuter survey?

I don't know if the long term interests of the North would best be served by supporting one airline or the other. However, I do know that right now (1:17 pm in Kelowna, on Sept 26, 2009), one could book a flight on Sept 29, 2009 from Yellowknife to Orlando, with an overnight in YYZ, for $369 + taxes and fees. Works out to be $442.97 total, one way. 10 minutes ago, that flight was being sold by WJ for $289 + taxes. The lower fare disappeared while I had the screen up.
I wonder what it cost to get to Orlando from Yellowknife last year, when WJ was not a participant in the YZF market?
If price is important.

I agree with you Jonny D. It’s important to spread the network to as many people as possible. I've heard that YZF is only the first stop. I think as you see the recession wind down and the industry wind back up you'll see WJ in more destinations throughout the North. As the company grows the network grows and more and more people are going to be able to enjoy WJ's service. Imagine how nice it'll be for people to go from say Inuvik to Barbados or Maui for instance.

Perhaps it has already been mentioned, but we're all aware where the main operations are based for both Cdn Nrth AND First Air, that being Calgary and Ottawa respectively? Where does all that northern money go again?
Drinking outside the box.

I suggest you do some research. YYC is flight ops only. Head corporate office is in Yellowknife. So the money is going where it should... the north.Four1oh wrote:Perhaps it has already been mentioned, but we're all aware where the main operations are based for both Cdn Nrth AND First Air, that being Calgary and Ottawa respectively? The president lives in YYC. A quick look at the corporate page shows a lot of 403 area codes for more than just Flight Ops.
