Re: Pic from a swamper
I wish I had a better pic... the strip ahead in the first picture is Mulia in Papua. We called it the training strip cause its pretty long. Still had a 12% incline and can be quite dangerous due to weather and winds. The second pic is standing on the ramp in Mulia. You can see the crashed Twotter on the hill. He tried to turn around and didn't make it.

Re: Pic from a swamper
This guy tried to take off in Mulia... thing is only one engine was up to full power. The other didn't "seem right", but the crew tried to take off anyway. When they released the breaks, they just went off the runway into the tulips. I was told witnesses were wondering why the propellers weren't doing the "same thing."

That 195 is nice, just add water. I can't believe I'm saying that about a cessna. Strutless is where it's at.

Red Lake

5 am'er out of Selkirk

Not from a swamper... can't insult a fishing guide like that

Fogged in

I was enroute to YXU after unloading Greg plus three others- two years in a row we dropped in during O-Week at school

Hurricanes. As if being in the BoB wasn't enough, they're are always trying to get in the picture

Haha, thanks. But I think there are some great shot coming in from all points on the compass here - I just wish I could put a few more from the Coast up, been zero flying this month... Maybe in Feb.sheephunter wrote:Blueside... you got it, but STL is God of this thread.
Here's a cutting room floor shot from Afghanistan... never put an enthusiastic amateur photographer in the helicopter you're trying to shoot.....lol I have about 75 great pix - of HIM..! Totally useless to me... argh.
It does give you a feeling of the completely different environment there however.
This second one is about the best you can do for scenery with all the dust in the air. Except on VERY rare days. This is at noon, more a snapshot for posterity.
