Jumpseating on UAExp

Post by razorblade »

Has anyone successfully jumpseated (cabin only, of course) on a United Express carrier from a Canadian to a US airport? I banged my head against the wall for an hour with a desk agent this morning and was no closer to getting on a flight to EWR.

I had a little trouble with mainline United out of EWR. The check-in agent didn't really understand how to list me but eventually figured it out. I had to be very patient!

Try telling them you're traveling as an OCM - Observing Crew Member. This is their term for jumpseater. My understanding is that you will be listed for the flight as an OCM and given a boarding pass.

Oh I tried OCM, Non-CASS, jumpseat, cabin only, and any other phrases I could come up with. No joy.

On the flipside, now that I'm finally in EWR.. it's always been a breeze here for me.
