I have only went once. It's like going to any flying thing. Suddenly you have a bunch of guys at an airport that speak airplane, only there are thousands of them and many bring their planes.
A highlight was hanging out with this guy I met that I kind of knew from an Internet forum. He goes often. He had a really cool leather jacket. Authentic WWI style, down to a particular archaic style of stitching. I said, "Hey can I look closer and hold it? Don't worry I won't try to put it on."
His buddy just about did a spit take, then said, "You wouldn't fit in that. No way." Which was partially why I said I was not going to try to.
Good times. Next time I get a chance to go I plan to bring my over priced RCAF looking red canoe shaving kit.

Never say never but it's a pretty daunting drive so I'm probably going to stay closer to home this year. I'll miss you two. Post some pictures and anecdotes for me.
Was hoping to fly down again this year but in my newly built bird this time but looks like she won't be ready on time. Still waiting for my CofA and fly off my hours, then I'd have to install a transponder... Hoping to still make it but I'm getting broke after a bunch of other junk I bought this summer! Next year for sure though...

Really ???
I have gone 22 yrs in a row and don't find that at all.
Apart from Admission and camping or parking , what is EAA bugging you to spend money on? They don't go around approaching people at the show and asking for money that I have ever seen.
All the exhibits are free, Museum is free , Forums are free .
What more do you want ?

It was one of the best values in an airshow type of event I have been to. The only thing way better is donation only museums, if you are too cheap to donate.
More importantly though, I would like to know how they planed to go to airventure 2015 in 2016?
In conclusion, this thread lacks pictures from the event.
