Pacific Coastal is advertising on
AVCANADA for a bus driver. Do they advertise for pilots on shuttle bus forums. Don't know who their HR people are, but I gotta scratch my head on this one.

I don't see what the problem is; there are plenty of non-pilot, non-AME jobs advertised on here for aviation companies. Just looking at the first page of ads, there are shipper/receiever, airport manager, and shop assistant jobs. EFC is always posting for rampies, equipment operators, and CSRs. They're all related to aviation, and it's not like Pasco is demanding that their shuttle driver have a CPL and pay for a bus type rating.

I'm pretty sure this is an AVIATION forum, not a pilot forum. There are plenty of people here who are not pilots.

I know a few different pilots who worked at this job while they were doing flight training. One of them made great connections, went up north to fly for a few years and later went to the left seat of a 1900. He's now at WestJet.

Yeah what's the big deal?? I used to work there & the majority of the ramp personnel & drivers were not pilots, nor did they want to be. Some were definite Aviation enthusiasts though... Unlike many companies who exploit the crap out of young pilots, Pasco has no established rampie to pilot program...

Hi,
Our HR team use many recruiting website to advertise for all positions within Pasco, shuttle bus positions included. AvCanada is one of many.
We do have some pilots and student pilots that do work the ramp or on the in-flight team to gain experience in an airline environment. One career progression for low time pilots on the South Side has involved starting on our ramp while flight training or with fresh commercials, then over to a local navajo operator for a while and then back to Pasco. Every once in a while, a person may skip the navajo part.
Cheers,
JT
