Check with Marsh. Their rates were considerably less. Their training requirements were less too.

I think Magnes (www.magnesgroup.com) does the COPA plan, but I got better rates and coverage, direct through Magnes, with Catlin:

One year the COPA plan was the best price but too many restrictions and requirements. The next year they couldn't even find an underwriter for hull insurance. The best I've found is EAA's C-PLAN. Always within $50 of the cheapest and definitely the least hassle.

EAA, C-PLAN is the cheapest and has the best value plus you don't have to give money to COPA to support their dictatorship.

C-PLAN was half the price for more coverage than the COPA quote I got! I don't know how they stay in business with the rip-off prices they charge! My buddy got a similar deal on his Stinson and was able to put full coverage on it for the same price as the "silver" coverage COPA offers... :-?

OK...so there are cheaper plans than COPSA but...why are they cheaper. Do they give out less benefits. Maybe in the fine print it is discovered that what COPA covers is not covered by others.

Anybody have details?

Dunno... When I got my C-PLAN papers I read the fine print and the coverage was good. One thing I noted was that the coverage is share with numerous insurance companies all taking a percentage of the coverage and risk. Maybe that's how they get better rates? Dunno if COPA does the same though...
