Finally got my Radio Licence after 31 years
Well, the nice instructor in Victoria helped me get a real radio licence after I'd been flying around for 31 years with a fake. I learned to fly in 1984 and the CFI at Winnipeg Aviation administered my restricted operators exam, took my $5, issued me a licence, and then never sent in the paperwork. But I have the real thing now. It's never too late
Re: Finally got my Radio Licence after 31 years
I was told the requirements for an ATPL met all the requirements for a restricted radio license but I got my restricted radio license in 1960 just after I got my private license. In those day, the license was an actual paper document suitable for framing and even had a passport style picture so I used my Grade 12 high school picture. I still have it and some day I am going to have it framed. In discussion with a TC inspector, he was not all that interested in seeing the actual license for our company ATPL's but we all had a good chuckle when I produced my old document and it was still valid.
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

My radio license is on the bottom of Kingfisher Lake, Ontario, just off the dock in front of the community, where it has been since approximately 1996. I have no intention to replace it.
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself

Wel, at least it's not because you're a slow learner.

Useless or not, it is super easy to replace.Meatservo wrote:My radio license is on the bottom of Kingfisher Lake, Ontario, just off the dock in front of the community, where it has been since approximately 1996. I have no intention to replace it.
