Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
5T has signed a letter of intent with Air Transat to operate southern holiday flights this winter season.
I really hope this is an effect of AT moving away from wet leasing foreign carriers to take care of extra capacity and Hope Sunwing is able to follow suit by wet leasing Canadian airlines too.

Glad to hear you guys got that flying, it's nice to hear some good news for once.
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
So they dump one Canadian carrier for another. How is that good?
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
You would prefer a foreign carrier wet lease ?boeingboy wrote:So they dump one Canadian carrier for another. How is that good?
Sorry, I'm a bit condescending. I mean it's better than a foreign carrier wet lease.

I wonder if 5T contractors will get to use passes on these flights. Fingers crossed!

No - of course not.You would prefer a foreign carrier wet lease ?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear myself - I meant dumping one Canadian carrier and hiring another Canadian carrier really does nothing. I guess it's good for the new guys - but it just displaces the old guys....

Good on them for contracting Canadian North. This is good news.
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
Does that mean Enerjet will no longer do Transat flying? I heard they returned one of their 737's and lost their oil sands contract... True?

Think he means CanJet.
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
I saw them loading up about 20 boxes of what appeared to be tech records into the belly of it the other day, so I was wondering that myself.loopa wrote:Does that mean Enerjet will no longer do Transat flying? I heard they returned one of their 737's and lost their oil sands contract... True?
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
Yea... I have heard from several sources that they didn't renew the lease on one of their 737 ng's... So I'm wondering if they lost the Transat flying on top of the oil contract. That would kind of close the doors no? Perhaps there's something else on the go...
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
The company and Air Transat contract are all intact.loopa wrote:Yea... I have heard from several sources that they didn't renew the lease on one of their 737 ng's... Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
That's good if true........but why are the Enerjet flights from YVR non-existant after Oct 25th?The company and Air Transat contract are all intact.
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
Why wouldn't it be true, you have factual information otherwise?boeingboy wrote:That's good if true........but why are the Enerjet flights from YVR non-existant after Oct 25th?The company and Air Transat contract are all intact.
Do you have the entire TS YVR winter schedule? That would be the most telling of your claim.

Really? I just found this on transat's website and it says operated by ENJ.
Re: Canadian North to Operate Air Transat Flights
Really?
All I can find is it saying operated by Air Transat....with some going through Victoria - even the flight numbers are different than the ones being used by Enerjet now. The sched I've seen shows no Enerjet flights after the end of Oct - so I'm only going by what Ive seen so far.
