NavCan Second round interview question?
Hey everyone, I have my second interview coming up and like every step an trying to be prepared as possible and have a few questions?
Learning about Nav Canada: Any tips on the company itself. Ive read the website and learned about VFR, IFR, FSS. They encouraged me to learn about the company and any bit of info will help.
I have visited the centre and tower in my region. I am concerned about remembering a ton about the first interview. I remember the generics but as for the exact details I dont rememeber many questions. I remember the part that you had to repeat back to the interviewer. my answers werent scripted I was just being honest and thought it went really well. Is this something I should be really trying to remember the next little while or is this just a small part??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I will keep you updated. thanks!

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
Nav canada is a lot more than just the 3 streams.
They are involved in many other projects such as radars systems over the sea, terrain mapping, ect... A quick google search with have more details on this. As for the interview itself, take a look at this link,

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
When I had my second interview they did not ask a single question from the first interview. In fact, my second interview was VERY easy going with very basic general questions regarding my desire for the position, what stream I would prefer etc... It lasted only 15-20 minutes before heading down to the floor to sit in on live traffic for an hour!

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
It went good?? I was pretty prepared however was still nervous. Panel was super nice, questions were fairly basic about how much do you want it. They seemed impressed about how much i knew about The company. Sucks it takes 4 weeks to find out. Hoping for the best.

Goodness must be nice! They seemed really interested if I was aware of how intense and how difficult training will be. I was prepared for questions like that so can only cross fingers now.

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
I just had my second round interview on Tuesday, here in Moncton FIR. I'm hoping to find out how I made out, and if I passed what specialty I'm streamed for sooner rather than later. 4 weeks would be incredibly difficult, especially since I log onto my dashboard every hour of the day to see if there's an update.
Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I also interviewed and I was told it would be about a month before results.. So don't beat yourself up re-checking every hour (I keep my checks to a few times a day, hahaScottie Jay wrote:I just had my second round interview on Tuesday, here in Moncton FIR. Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
Interviews are still ongoing so I'm guessing no results will be posted until all are complete.chobs wrote:I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I also interviewed and I was told it would be about a month before results.. I don't think you're officially gauged against other people are you? My understanding was that as long as you get a certain score that is over their cut-off for each step, you move on. If you "pass" your second interview, then you're in the candidate pool. Only at that time when you're in the candidate pool are you ranked against everybody else, but you should at least know whether you passed the cut-off line of the second interview or not. However, knowing whether you passed might take a while because the FIR passes their scores to Ottawa to count up and update on the site. Do they send their scores as soon as interview done or do they wait all of the interviews are done? So...reading back, maybe that's what you meant anyways.kevenv wrote:Interviews are still ongoing so I'm guessing no results will be posted until all are complete.chobs wrote:I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I also interviewed and I was told it would be about a month before results.. I think that you are ranked right off the hop against other people. If they only need 50 people for the assessment session, the top 50 that completed the online tests get an invite. If they decide to call 10 people for the 2nd interview, then only the top 10 get called for one.Globex wrote:

I think the only step that you are guaranteed is if you pass the assessment, then you are guaranteed the telephone interview. All other steps they tell you in BOLD that even though you have reached Step X, you are not guaranteed to be given a chance to attempt/pass the next step.
Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
Has anyone from the Moncton Region that has already done their second interview heard anything back yet? My dashboard turned green that I passed it....just waiting for a call now. The waiting is killing me. Lol

I just completed my Phone interview and wasn't told about any question I would have to repeat back to the interviewer. Was I supposed to be asked a specific question that I remembered to answer the same way during the in person interview?

Don't over stress about remembering your previous answers. The purpose to this is to ensure that the same person is doing both interviews. They asked me and when I started on the details they cut me off and said no need for a long answer we just wanted to make sure that you're the same person who was interviewed on the phone.

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?
They never asked me any question that I answered in the 1st interview. In fact, the interview was extremely easy going with very few questions. As I've said in other posts, I spent a few minutes talking with head of training as well as another manager and then spent the next hour on the floor listening to live traffic.
I was green lighted for the final interview.
