Hangar space in YQT?

Post by aviatrix444 »

Anyone know of some available hangar space in Thunder Bay? Big enough for a Cherokee? Doesn't have to be heated or anything fancy, just want to keep it out of the snow. I called the airport themselves and didn't get any leads. Any help is much appreciated :)

Did you try kakabeka falls flying club - not sure of their winter status and the strip is only 2000 ft but might be a good option.

KG8 doesn't have any hangars either. Guys are building and there is I think about a 5 member wait list for building lots.

Well that is just all kinds of depressing. What do people do to keep the corrosion away over the winter? Full covers?

No hanger space here either... I have full wing covers for mine, plus I show up 2 hours early to drag it over to plug....Sucks, but at least I can still fly!

My recommendation is to take advice from other aircraft owners that have been doing this for a while... locals that give you advice, (like it or not) have a vested interest in having you hire them or helping you.

Moved for winter - should be available, at least over the winter, as far as I know...
