Options to Rent for Sight Seeing in the Lower Mainland

I am hoping that there is some local wisdom to help me.

I will be in the lower mainland staying at a downtown hotel for a few days in mid December.

As I have never flown there before I am thinking to rent from somewhere to sight see over downtown and head north to fly the highway to Whistler (weather permitting).

Based on reasonable proximity to downtown I am thinking to fly out of Pitts Meadows. I am thinking C152 - however as I tip the scales at 265lbs the COT flight needs a very slender instructor.

I am closing in on 1500hrs, Commercially licensed with Group One and have about 200hrs on C150/152 with another 400hrs on C172s.

Can anyone recommend somewhere reasonable to rent for a few hours

Definitely go to Pitt Meadows. You won't have to worry about skirting YVR to get downtown, and its closer to the mountains. Island Coastal is probably who you want to talk to.

I rent a Cherokee 140 out of Langley. If you want to try a Piper.

If you want a C172, go to Pacific Rim at YPK, because they are pretty much dead year round - so you shouldn't have any issues with availability. And the instructors should be happy to have a bit of business.
