MLAs...fly or drive?

After the unfortunate death this week of MLA Manmeet Bhullar, the local news was interviewing some other MLAs about how much they are now travelling by road. It would appear that many are doing a ton of driving now that there are no aircraft to use...one had driven over 2700 kilometers in the last month or so.How long will it be before the NDP buys itself a Dash 8 or maybe a couple of King Airs?

It's a reasonable question. I wonder how long it'll be before it comes up in the media.

I'm not even sure if the Dash has even been sold yet.

I agree Dr. Evil. It was a sorry day when stupidity again ruled in politics and they shut down the department. Is the NDB government still secretly paying the Edmonton rich boys for the remainder of the hanger lease and keeping the Dash 8 in mothballs on our tax payers dime? Coffee sometime soon?

They have done a great job of keeping the Lease out of the news, it is something like 10 yrs.

...and they still are holding on to the Dash at the moment...

Really, if there's anything the loss of this MLA's life should impress upon the government, it's the need to really start looking into an effective passenger rail link between YYC and YEG...and YMM (the oil should pick up eventually?...right??).

Which of course would devastate all the flying between those centers ;{. Argh..never win.
