Have you seen what it costs to live in Australia?

Sydney makes Vancouver look like a bargain.

Who says you have to live in Sydney? What's the catch ? FFS
Have you seen what it costs to live in Canada? So I guess 35000 to 50000 is perfectly fine for a F/O position here? It's true what the rest of the world says about Canadian pilots.

It does? Seems about on par to me: http://www.realestate.com.au/buy/proper ... ?maxBeds=4 You probably don't have to deal with heating in the winter, and that's twice what Jazz or Encore is offering...

Living cost on par with Canada, house prices generally less depending on where you want to be (Auckland and Sydney not ideal, much like Van). Qantas and Air NZ both pay in that ballpark for cojos on regionals, $85-$95k with per diems.

Hi Chris,

The Qantas Group is undergoing a period of growth. As a result our regional carrier is inviting experienced turboprop endorsed Pilots and Simulator Instructors to register interest for upcoming roles.

What’s on offer?

• Sponsorship and relocation
• $85,000+ salary plus attractive loadings and benefits
• World class training and development
• Genuine career development opportunities across the Qantas Group

I will be holding Interviews in Vancouver between the 26th and 30th September.

If you would like to be considered or have further questions please contact Emma Cattell at qantaslinkpilot@qantas.com.au to request an information package outlining relocation package, sponsorship, salary/ staff benefits and FAQs.

So, did anybody here attend this interview in YVR?
Am curious to hear how things went! I was invited but declined as my wife is fairly happy in the current setup! Happy wife = happy life!

Started off in the Dash 8 classic sim, depart YVR, steep turns, ILS, missed approach, NDB approach. Pretty straightforward. Interview followed, no tricks. Waiting to hear back.

Was this for dash 8 typed people only? Or was it for any kind of turbo prop?

Don't let the Aussie folks get wind of this on PPRUNE or they'll have a fit.

So, any actual job offers to go down under to the land of Qantas Link??
My EK sources told me that a huge swath of Qantas Link pilots are currently heading over to EK for their B777 type ratings... funny how the grass is always greener on the other side!
