I see our friends in the Knife are still dangling the lure. Seriously?
Things are moving. You spent 30-50 K to get that licence. Use it!

Funny a thread started on this - Was just going to start one myself!!!
Is this shit still happening? It though the shortage was damn near here....with 650 pilots going to Jazz/encore/Mainline in the next 18 months, I'm sure it's right around there corner?

I doubt there will be a shortage of resumes.
The old " there is fifty guys behind me lined up to take it if I don't" rationale.
And companies perfectly willing to exploit that line of thinking.

There is a definitive lack of 1500-3000hr pilots willing to take shit pay or jobs now. They're all being gobbled up by Jazz, Encore, Sunwing etc. Just Look at the job ads! How many places hiring direct entry captains for 703 and 704? Almost every operator in the country has made a posting ion the last 6-12 months!!
This will start trickling down the line and leave many operators in a lurch if they don;t react now. Hopefully that doesn't mean more ridiculous bonds and other bullshit to hold people captive.

I'm seeing a lot of bonds lessen or disappear. The quality (and quantity) of the resumes tend to increase when bonds go away. There's always going to be pilots racing to AC or WJ. However if you can increase the quality of resumes you get, that will allow you the potential to hire long term employees. You also have to offer decent WAWCON. Scummy companies will always have bonds, because otherwise people would't last a month.
