Speeding Tickets
Anyone ever get a out of provence speeding ticket and not bother to pay it? Did anything happen? Also, if you ever move to that provence in the future and change your car insureance is it going to show up??? I got a Speeding ticket is Alberta, but have BC insureance, wondering if I should bother paying it?
is BC provincial or private or both insurance??
If you were in MB I'd say don't worry about it..
As for "paying" if the ticket is on your file it's there regardless of "paying" or not..
So leave it alone, and yes, if you move into province you'll have a ticket waiting for you at the DMV.

speeding tickets
If you get one from out of province and do nt pay it and you decide to move there in future it could throw you. Example Person lives in AB recieved a speeding ticket in Calgary later moved to Mb without paying the ticket. Moved back to AB Edmonton this time tried to get a AB dvl was told he couldnt get one untill he paid his ticket from 4 years previous.

I know someone who got an out of province speeding ticket. He decided to say F*ck it and didn't bother paying it. Eventually it caught up to him, the province forwarded to a collection agency. The lovely collection agency found out where he worked and started calling him everyday at work. He paid up pretty quick after the boss start asking questions about the recent increase in personal calls going through the front office.

Former roommate of mine who was a lawyer (and good friends with the local RCMP) told me that the cops radar doesn't work in precipitation or fog. It gives eroneous readings. Makes sense but I have never been in that situation and wouldn't want to be the guinea pig. I haven't heard of anyone fighting this aspect before either, but I would think fighting it would be worth a shot if you got one while it was raining, snowing, drizziling or foggy. Wouldn't hurt.
If riding in a plane is FLYING. Then Riding in a boat is SWIMMING!
I can't wait for that day, slam on my breaks and watch the pig hit me, I'll call the cops on him for an accident of his fault... *MAUHAHAHAHAH*FREEFALL wrote: but I would think fighting it would be worth a shot if you got one while it was raining, snowing, drizziling or foggy. Wouldn't hurt.
I don't think they're that stupid and check for speeders in poor WX conditions..

In 1995 I was on a road trip in AB and got a speeding ticket and a couple days later a fine for not wearing my seatbelt...
I really don't like paying fines, usually I dispute them, but AB is a long way to go (I live in SW BC) to dispute $100 in fines so I did nothing. I have not heard a thing in more than 10 years.
