I was wanting to make a group for everyone in the Edmonton area so we can share our progress in applications, so we can make the waiting period seem shorter (hopefully ).
Timelines, assessments, training,... whatever point you are at around here.

I have applied on March 6th, 2017
Online test taken: March 6th, 2017, result: green light
I am currently waiting for an assessment in Edmonton that I hopefully get an invite for when the times comes.

I contacted the national recruitment centre and they said they are currently planning the spring session and to ask in a few weeks again, by then they will have more detail.

Did you see the dates online? Edmonton will be May 16-17.

I am attending the in person assessment on May 17. I timed out of the pool last application, so keeping my fingers crossed this will be my time.

I did my online assessment Jan 26.
I attended the May 16 in person assessment.
Green light May 29!!
1st interview June 6th
Green light June 7th!!
UPS expressed documents to Nav Canada they arrived June 9th!!
Fingers still crossed.

I did not pass but I am sure I know what it was so I will try again next year and hopefully get further then

The 2nd interview (assuming invitation) usually varies....when I went through this last year they said typically at least a month in between (some sooner, some later).... I have put my process timings below if you want to reference them. Best of luck to you all, and don't rank higher than me! (I don't want another stand-by offer haha)

Congratulations on making it this far! Including yourself and me(I?- Good thing that wasn't a question on the assessment, LOL) I count at least eight, on this forum who are still waiting for their second interview.

Does anyone have any info or stats on how many get the first interview green but not a second interview?

It's impossible to say really, you could ask for % of people that complete a phone interview but not get in person. Most people I know that have gotten an in person had the interview within a few months, but that isn't to say that it never happens later, I've seen others on this forum wait a year or almost till expiry before getting a call....

IMHO (this is not fact by any means) the fact that you told them you only want IFR may have limited your application. What I mean that is if you didn't score high enough on the exam/interview to qualify for IFR, they may just leave your application sitting there. They have thresholds they like candidates to be at before they will give them a certain stream. Again this is not fact and I do not pretend to know the workings of NavCanada's recruitment process but this would be what I would guess.....Just remember everyone's application is unique to them and not all of us will have the same experience. Keep your heads up guys!!!


BTW: I spoke with Joanne and she confirmed YEG will be doing their next IFR course in October 2017, and VFR in November 2017, both of which she said that most likely the candidates who were just examined this past month will not be in contention for as it takes too long to process all the steps before offers would be going out. She also said there would be another round of both IFR and VFR in May 2018 that all of us would be eligible for. She couldn't say how many seats there would be as it is determined by the FIR closer to the dates, as well as how many seats would be ab-initio (external national candidates) and how many would be seniority bids

I've not heard anything about an in person interview as of yet. It's only been about 6 weeks though since my phone interview and green light. Last time I applied it was about 10 weeks I'd say before I got a call. There is no set time I think.
