Another Flight School closes doors

For all you shuttle commanders out there who go on and on about how flight schools are rolling in the cash, a 172 should rent for $95/hr and instructors should be making $50,000 a year because the business is so good; http://www.okanagan-aviation.com/

This is the reality of this end of the business. This particular operation has been around for a long time, in a good location, run by a knowledgable and experienced chap, but a struggle is a struggle, and eventually you just get dragged down. Good luck to all those affected. I know of at least one individual who's counting his blessings right now, and another who's probably regretting his...

Businness is not good for flight schools because there are not good paying jobs!!! :?
Kids now prefer to spend 50K on a master degree than in a fly license... and i can't blame them :(

Pioneer Flight Training in Prince George B.C. shut down last week as well, where I did my licence.

The flying club that trained me, after they realized what they'd done shut their doors as well.

At this point, Pioneer is only closed for the winter.
