192$ for a Cat1 medical! Is that the going rate these days?

Post by I WAS Birddog »

Over the last 4 years my medical bill has gone up 10$ a year...

My MOT office has its annual medicals with ECG at now 192$ :?

Please share what the rates you folks are paying AND what office.

Also, is it normal my Dr. films me doing his instructed yoga positions naked with a layer of body oil? He says it's for "the files".

Good thing I pay the tab AFTER my ECG test :smt104

Dr. Fogal gives you a stamped chit for the parking lot attendant at the rear of the building. I think if you can get in and out in 30-40 minutes it is free.

Seems to me that the Doc needs to cover practice scosts, and those costs will vary depending on where you are. Rent is not the same in Timbuktu as it is in ''the centre of canada'' LOL!

Here in YUL, varies according to the MD. Practice in the basement, ECG included, about 160. Highest is 300 or 350, can't remember now, and he only gets patients with gold plated working conditions.

About 200 with ECG included for my DOC. He has a good reputation with TC.

Dr. Gilmore in Toronto charges me $130. Usually $260 total since he does my FAA too. Company pays so I don't care but I go back to him every year from out west because he's great.

My husband went to a different guy last year and he quoted something like $150 for the medical, and he knew it'd be additional for the ECG so I don't think he asked. Then when the bill was made up, the "extra tests" other than the ECG all had charges, too. There were add-ons for the eye test (the little chart), urinalysis (still just done by the doc, not sent to a lab or anything), and something else that I can't recall at the moment. By the time he was finished it was around $300!

I used to pay $80 in yvr with Dr Sehmer... it didn't go up the 10 years or so I saw him... I don't know if he's still around though...

Dr Goebel in yyc was pretty reasonable too... less than $100 for sure.

I can't see they would be double or more in price by now... even though it's 10 years later... paying hundreds seems pretty high, I'd shop around.

27 years ago my first all in Cat1 med ECG was 60$. I can't even have a 2 pounds of chicken wings with a beverage for less than 60$ these days.
