Recently I posted my pilot resume online. The other day I received e-mails from these two companies looking to hire pilots.

- Albaka Airline Inc.,
Nigeria
- ABU DHABI GAS LIQUEFACTION COMPANY LTD (ADGAS).,
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Does anybody know anything about them? I looked them up online but turned up nothing.

I know of AL-Barka airlines out of Nigeria. They had the 707, 727, and A310. I understand they also do inter-Nigerian flights, discount type.

My advise... stay with the company(s) in the UAE.

be careful with the company from nigeria. sometimes people get hold of your info and send you emails saying that they may need you. Problem is these people may not actually work for the company and are trying to make you pay something up front so you can better your chance of getting hired. this happened to me about 10 years ago. they wanted 5000 US so i would be part of the next ten hired. Funny thing is they also sent my friend the exact same letter and it had both our names on it.

I took a look at the ADGAS site. Lots of job postings here, but nothing for flight crew. I searched the site for pilot and only got 3 items. None of them appeared to relate to the operation of aircraft. Aircrew, and aircraft didn't get any results. How did they want you to contact them? I'd be careful. It might be worth contacting the Human Resources Department (using the phone number on the web page) and inquire. Then you can let them know what happened and maybe forward them the email.

Thanks Guys! I'm skeptical about these two companies, so I will tread lightly and maybe make a few phone calls to them directly before I do anything else..

I looked into it and I'm 95% sure it's a scam. The ADGAS company has no flight department that I could find online. Yet the job offer suggested I would earn $17,300 USD per month as a pilot with them in the U.A.E.

Also the fictional ADGAS "recruiting agency" told me to make contact with a person at another yahoo type e-mail addy to help me process passports and work visas for $750 USD. The instructions for payment were then e-mailed to me. I'm not buying it!

I read some other online forums that detailed similar scams with oil companies in Nigeria.

Just thought I would pass along this info in case any of you get job offers like this too. I suspect they found my resume that I had posted on AVcanada
