Transport Canada Medical Processing fees

Anybody else get a letter from Transport Canada saying they owe money for processing fees? I owe 165, but i'm pretty sure this money has been coming off of my income tax refund.

Same here, but I am sure they take it off every year. I have never paid mine, they just take it off at tax time. Now I have letter saying I owe for two years??

I never pay mine.. I give this damn governmet enough of my money. So now I have to pay them $55 to process my medical.. I want that job...SOme old crank workin for the government for 200 yrs sits at an old computer clicks on your name, updates the medical date. hits save.. That costs $55 my ass. I know Canada is a great place to live. But the gov't needs to quit stickin us every chance they get.
Unfortunately they take mine off my taxes..

I've called and been told it was part of the AIP fee ... Well ... Since there is no more AIP I want my $55 bux either reduced or gone all together!

Processing fees are a joke .. The world is all about nickel and diming people to death anymore. If you've ever used the services of a Lawyer you'll know what im talking about ... Fees for copies, software usage fees, envelopes ... etc! ...

I got a letter as well. In my case, it was pretty funny as I have FIVE Doctors's signatures on my medical slip. I know there's only space for FOUR, but what am I to do? I'm just a poor stupid pilot. I get my medical, it's up to them to pull their heads out of their asses and do the paper work??

Dumb thing is I paid mine when I got the notice, and they took the money off my taxes too. I called them, and no one had a clue. Right now, all those requests are getting filed under G.

Its a typical Goverment money grab.........they have a special office in Ottawa with a group of overpayed people who just sit around all day and find new ways to dip into our pockets. The next thing on the list is an Oxygen Consumption Tax based on your sex, age and weight. Naturally they will have to have the CO2 waste surcharge as a separate fee.
