Alert Air
Hello. Anyone know if Alert Air is still flying out of Kelsey Bay, BC? If they are not still operating anyone know when the closed up? Or are they operating under another name.
Reson I am asking is my father flew as a pax with them in the early 70's? Sounds like they had smaller single engine rigs on floats.
Any info would be nice.
Cheers

Duffman: Hey Duff lovers! Does anyone in this bar loooove Duff?
Carl: Hey, it's Duffman!
Lenny: Newsweek said you died of liver failure.
Duffman: Duffman can never die, only the actors who play him. Ooh yeah!

ABAS - Alert Bay Air Services. Some of the current Air Canada senior captains, and a couple that I know who have now retired, got their start there. Most went to Canadian Pacific and Piggly Wiggly sorry Pacific Western. From Beavs to 737s. Used to happen more...
Oh yeah, long gone.

"What's it doing now?"
"Fly low and slow and throttle back in the turns."

ABAS...what a coincidence as I happen to live there (unofrtunetly
but thats changing this June when I graduate highschool). The ABAS Hanger still stands and is in use as a storage and welding shop if I remember correctly, but the dock that ABAS used about 0.5k from the hanger is basically demolished now.
Intresting history ABAS has though.
