New Years - What are you doing/Suggestions

Post by cyyz »

Happy New Years(if you aren't chinese or some other denomination that doesn't celebrate it)

So, What are you doing for new years(yes I want to steal your ideas).

If you don't have anything planned yet, what do you suggest is a good/affordable idea?

Thanks.

Outdoor hot tub party. We did that last year and again this year too. get a few people together, each pay 50 bucks and rent a tub. Not a bad way to spend a drunk cold weekend. Last year it was -35 and it was awsome.

Cheers.

We used to go to a place named Blue Lake every years with friends. A lot of drinks, some fireworks at midnight, lots of home cooking, and a cabin to stay in so we never had to drive anywheres. Those were some of the best New Years Parties I can remember.

I like it, but don't the tub manufacturers and sellers/renters, suggest you not spend more then X hours in the tub(for whatever reason)...

How long were you guys in it? I'll take that as a safe bet.. But I like it. =)

Good job KAG... Anyone else?

And bandaid, your idea was good too, I just don't know where blue lake is. =P

Flyin' Yeah, hotel parties are always good. =)

Going to spend a quiet evening alone with a bag of weed, a bottle of wine and a Joni Mitchell record. Light some candles and let my tears lubricate the transition into 2006.

Ok...I'm having a hard time composing my thoughts after the imagery that Haz's last post evoked.

As of now, the plan is to sit in front of the fireplace with my girlfriend and drink some really great scotch.

Cyyz,
Blue Lake is half way between Invermere and Cranbrook off of highway 95 at Canal Flats or more simply put, half way to no wheres. Great spot with Blue Lake being very small and stocked every year with cut throat trout so ice fishing is usually productive. In the winter you can snow machine or xcountry ski in the area, the trails are endless. In the spring and fall you can mountain bike, hike or flyfish in either little blue lake or White Tail Lake which is a trophy lake. Summer it becomes a kids camp. Great place to go with a large group, lots of outdoors stuff to do, no tv, telephones, even the lighting and cooking is propane powered. I've posted a link for you to have a look at not that you'll be going anytime soon, just out of interest.

Probably getting drunk in Taylor, Michigan with my brother and buddy Jimmy and his wife Roxanne. We'll be in the garage slamming a bit of the Grouse in between cold cuts, cheese and crackers- all the while drinking Busch Light.

The neighbours will complain, like last year, then Jimmy will steal their new barbecue.

I suggest something like that.

Second year in a row: We'll be hosting a toboggan/luge/GT sno-racer bonfire celebration for the whole family. Luge track is banked, lit with tiki-torches and ends with a big jump right beside the bonfire after about 200 twisty-turning yards through the forest. Last year the conditions were SICK! Ice-packed track, with 2-3 feet of fluff off the sides. As the evening progresses, the kids clear out and the alcohol kicks in for some real comedy. Good times, good times!

One year a friend of a friend had a house party, it was lame so we left and walked a few blocks to my buddy’s house, along the way there were a couple other parties so we stopped at each. If it is late enough nobody cares who you are. Just BYOB so you don’t look like a jerk until people get used to you. Since that year we just walk around until we find a party then join in.

Its cheap and simple, but it is risky.

Providing the weather is good. Ski Flying up to the North Nopiming park in MB. for a Bonfire out on the lake. Then do the Snowmobile Poker Derby the next day by aircraft. The same if the weather is poor, just drag up the sled on a trailer.

Jesus Haza...that's is f&(*&ing depressing..here's some unsolicited advice for 2006...get a good paying long term job and tell those ass&$@& @ penair to kiss your ass, quit drinking to an oblivious mess, quit smoking cigarettes, move out of your mother's basement & take care of yourself.
You're a good man...underneath the insanity that is hazatude...stop pissing away your life & get out there & live man...come on now...
I declare 2006 as the year of Haza

Here ya are haz man

Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant

But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your gettin’ low
’stead of lettin’ go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call, and your back’s to the wall
There a lot to be learned, that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he’d punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram, scram
He kept buttin’ that dam

’cause he had high hopes, he had high hopes
He had high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your feelin’ bad
’stead of feelin’ sad
Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam

All problems just a toy balloon
They’ll be bursted soon
They’re just bound to go pop
Oops there goes another problem kerplop
