I heard from my friend today that Parallel aviation is closing its doors in YBL and in YXX. Does any one know if this is true?

Rumor Control… …
Due to sudden illness the management has decided to retire effective immediately. They have been in this business for quite a long time and have managed to build a fairly successful company with their AMO, YBL, YYJ, and Shawnigan lake bases. I wont toot my own horn, but I think it’s a great company…
For over the winter season flight operations have been suspended while a new management comes in and does some restructuring. The hope is that flight operations will restart sometime early in the New Year. Ground school is still being held, and the phones are still running (although you may get bounced to a cell…)
And as far as I know, as of about 3 hrs ago the OC was still hanging on the wall at least in YYJ… The management has simply suspended flight operations…
Any questions feel free to PM me,
A lowly class four…

Wow! Sorry to hear that. Best of luck to all affected, and special best wishes for good health and recovery. Walker, is it TD who's ill?

Hi there all again, Flight training certainly is a small industry… due to a number of PMs I am going to revise my statement slightly to clear something up, it is NOT Tom who is ill, rather it is an illness in the family. The Drybroughs are touched & thank everyone for their concerns…. I don’t feel that it is my place to get into details, but Tom made the decision that looking after his family was more important than directly running something as large as what Parallel has become. As I am told he will be downsizing his job and personally taking over Parallel’s float operations… I wish him and his family the best of luck!!
