Courtesy air doesn't operate float planes commercially. The float side was sold off and is now owned by voyage air.

No Harbour is a private company, I beileve mostly if not 100% owned by Greg Mcdougall

Voyage Air bought Courtesy Air's float division in the spring of 2002. They have since put a turbine in the Otter. Excellent equipment, fair pay; pilot's are expected to perform some non-flying duties but this is typical in a smaller operation. You will have a hard time finding a nicer guy to work for; just be prepared to put in an honest day's work for your day's pay. Voyage Air earns my vote!

Let's not forget about Pacific Coastal's Float Division. I think they have 3 amphib Beavers & 3 or 4 Gooses (Geese??)

Hmmm, I've heard the equipment and pay is good, but I've also heard from more than one person that he's not the greatest guy to work for. Know a couple guys that say they wouldn't work there no matter how good the pay.

As I said, be prepared to put in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. The general pay arrangement is a daily base plus mileage. If there is nothing scheduled for whatever your flying you have the option of coming in anyway or taking the day off. If you choose to come in and receive your base pay it is only reasonable to that you perform some sort of work in exchange for your compensation. Some drivers, particularly those with a bit of time, are averse to doing much more than fuelling and flying. Barry is particular about how many things are done, but he never expects more from anyone than he does from himself, and as the guy who signs the cheques and maintains the equipment he certainly should have the right to have a say in how things are done. He is always open to any suggestions if anyone thinks there is a better way of getting something done. I think that his excellent safety record speaks for itself. Bush flying is a diverse fraternity, and Barry has seen his share of odd characters, but he always treats everyone honestly and fairly, sometimes to his own detriment. I enjoyed my time there and would still be there if not for the incompatibility of bush flying and any kind of stable relationship. Unfortunately one love had to go, and I chose for it to be flying. That's life!!
