If you screw up in the sim, you know what you'll be doing to yourself if you didn't get the sim time...

Why don't you ask your question on the Pprune forum?

I'm withh CYYZ! If you really want the job, and the simtime could mean the difference between getting the job and not I think it is a no brainer. It's a oneshot deal, and if you haven't flown a large aircraft it will greatly benefit you to know what it is going to feel and handle like. Not to mention it will reduce the intimidation factor.
Good luck!

I totally agree with RB... I bought a couple hours of sim time shared with a buddy of mine before we headed for a sim evaluation with a company in Asia...

The cost was high but it made the evaluation go alot smoother with alot more confidence... Remember you will need a sim operator (prob from the sim company such as CAE), ideally an instructor in the back or someone who can show you the ropes, and hopefully a sim partner to share the cost with... If you can arrage all this, DO IT!!!

My only advise is to study the aircraft before you rent the sim, as the time flys by fast in there and you want an idea of what you are doing and what you want to practice BEFORE you jump in...

Just got back from Hong Kong a couple weeks ago from our Cathay interview. They interviewed 7 of us and only 2 of us got hired. Guess who? The 2 that got some sim time!!!

Go to Boeing in Seattle, they have a great interview prep course. $550 USD and worth every penny.

Unless you just want to go to HK for a quick 4 day holiday.......

Cheers!

Never can be to prepared, Had a friend go over to Europe a few years back for an interview while he was there visiting family. He said everyone there (except him) did tons of time in a sim in preperation. And guess what they hired pretty much everyone but him.
