Without a doubt boomers are the single most selfish generation in history. That label is true.

They only care about preserving the value of their homes, stock portfolios, the very worst sorts of NIMBY’s, that 10% annual house price increases are their entitlement right. Tough beans for anyone else. And politicians pander to them and ignore the young. With perpetual low interest rates and no long cycle investment, Boomers have got us into one heck of a mess.

Do I have it right? Parasites on society. Leeches that have drained the wealth.

Do i have it right?

And I am a pull yourself up kinda guy, writing this.

Time for payback. Tax the snot out of the retired rich boomers. Annual wealth taxes.

Give the money for new housing.

I know for a fact that boomers I personally know that propped up the big blue machine for 40 years are now staunch liberals to serve their diaper changes and anything else they all scoffed at when they were younger. Most hypocritical useless generation since the dawn of time.

You gotta look out for number one in this world.

Reminds me of Winston Churchill. A guy who started as Conservative… then joined the Liberals for most of his early career… then swung back hard to the Conservatives fighting very hard against socialism in the virtually bankrupt nation that was of his own doing (continuing to fight WWII by draining the treasury and getting into hawk with the Americans… the Atlantic Charter which inadvertently stoked nationalism in the colonies).

Then, practically bankrupt after losing almost everything in the 1929 Crash.. he lived in perhaps the most extravagant form of public housing ever as the National Trust took over Chartwell and allowed him to live there for free until his death while his countrymen were being subject to the devaluation of the pound under Bretton-Woods.. fuel and food rationing that continued into the 1950s.. inadequate and dilapidated Victorian row housing, and job losses, wage freezes, and spiralling inflation.

Definitely not a troll, ghostrider is completely consistent with that demographic of boomers that turned liberal with the pandemic. Pure covidian…. “Lockdowns equal safety!” this is the real deal here!

You folks seem to thrive in the world of emotional arguments …

Lockdowns have saved lives ..governments and the WHO etc have collectively weathered a massive storm. It’s science.

I can also say a certain generation .. ( the one now complaining about living costs) also tireless advocated against saving lives and protecting others.

And yes, I voted liberal .. you’re right on that. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Better than anti- science conservatives who don’t care about saving lives, keeping people safe and looking after their neighbors.

We have a young generation who wants to vote for a party spewing misinformation, disinformation, falsehoods and anti-science rhetoric that’s dangerous to others.

How is the country in the toilet for pray tell?

If the country is in the toilet it’s due to the younger generation being selfish and not saving lives.

We’d be through this pandemic if people got their shots and / got boosted… but here we are.. how many have been boosted? How many unvaccinated? … also, if people scrimped and saved for a rainy day ( the pandemic) money wouldn’t have needed to be dolled out the way it was..

We’re lucky the government had our backs …

We’d be in a lot better shape if Trudeau closed the borders as he was advised months earlier. Look at New Zealand, but noooooo that’s being a bigot and not inclusive.

Several things:

1) There was no evidence of the pandemic being serious at the time /we had zero clue what we were dealing with .

2) Our country was founded on the principles inclusiveness. Racism / segregation won’t stop a virus.

3) I can see why he opted to wait as opposed to being reactive and causing economic carnage ..

No generation.

I’m saying younger people were far more likely to be vaccine hesitant/ object to government health policies that were designed to save lives. - these people are responsible for the pandemic dragging out like it did.

Hell, Ottawa was shut down for a month…. Due to this unacceptable group costing more businesses revenue .

Do you have a source?

My anecdotal evidence points towards middle aged people refusing to vaccinate, which would have more effect than the same amount of younger people refusing to vaccinate.

I blame everyone who didn’t vaccinate their dogs and cats. Why don’t we have mandatory covid vaccines for the dogs and cats? This is 100 percent why Covid is still here

At least the zoo is getting er done! They just wait for the animals to consent, luring them with food. Then when the animals approach that means they are saying “please vaccinate me” and they give them the shot. Thank goodness for that!
