Thank God! For years I was told to "Act like a gentleman"!

Now I can act like everybody!

PS What does this do to the old cry aboard a sinking ship? You know: "Women and children first"?

Another "Diversity" disaster - the people behind this need to be fired asap imho.

Running an Airline is about having properly qualified people at all levels within the company - not some Social Engineering experiment.

The Boeing Company is what you get when the above gets replaced with "Diversity" and "Virtue Signalling"

That was changed years ago to families first.

Funny all these snowflakes here complaining about some wording. Hahaha, so sensitive.

I'm waiting for someone to bring up having to select your gender when you print your boarding pass due to fascist Transport Canada average passenger weights, and the bigoted laws of physics that prevent airplanes from flying with 300 Xirs on board.

What I don't get is they aren't even consistent with their internal logic. They say gender is different than biological sex. Man and woman genders male and female is biological sex. Well your ID though the category says Gender (cause even now it is officially synonymous with sex) says M or F. Male or female. So a third gender X is not needed. Cause it's not a gender it's your biological sex or Sexe as the french side says. It's male and female weights not man and woman

"Welcome aboard Ladies, Gentlemen, and Others" "Welcome aboard peoples" "Welcome aboard humans" "Welcome aboard non-descript travelling public". I can't believe my kids have to grow up in this shit storm.

"Get in, sit down, shut up. We don't care what downstairs parts you have or wish you had. If there's anything we can do to make your flight more pleasurable, please write it down on your napkin and deposit it into the garbage bin at the end of the flight"

And now, the AvCanada grumpy choir will entertain us with their rendition of the “Get Off My Lawn” symphony.

Those on the ultra right should be celebrating.

Another factor of identity politics.......... GONE!!

Oh yeah, that’s right. They love identity politics. Whether it was putting coloured signs on drinking fountains or gold stars on chosen people or just old fashioned gay bashing in the literal sense.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

As an AC pilot ( Captain) , I will continue to make the PA's using the term " Ladies and Gentlemen". Then again, I greet people with a "Merry Christmas " and also " Happy Easter" when celebrating those holidays. I also wear a poppy proudly. I cannot remember one negative comment from the crew or passengers when addressed as such.
Cheers.

Personally I'm glad we "gave in" to those people who wanted to give women the vote, or allow same-sex marriages, and any other number of "concessions" to other people's "feelings". It says a lot about the people who consider this a battle that must not be conceded.
