Hi all,
Just had a quick question on being current with TC. A little bit of backstory, I have my PPL that I obtained back in August of 2018 while still in high school and currently have about 160 TT. I am part of a flight college right now where I'm doing my night rating before moving onto all the other stuff.
I recently was on the TC website and saw some currency requirements. Every 6 months, 5 T/O's and Landings is easy and done. Every 5 years act as PIC at least once is done. The only one I'm confused/not sure about is the one every 2 years:

Since I still fly with an instructor, would I still need to complete one of the following items in that list before August of this year (two years after I got my PPL) in order to exercise my PPL privileges when I rent from my home airport for leisure?

The 2 year recency is relatively easy to obtain, especially if you are still going through training. If you have done any one of them, it keeps you current. A couple of the most obvious ones you might have done recently which could mean you are 2-year current:
1. A new rating added on to your license - Night, IFR, VFR-OTT, etc.
2. A written exam for a license, permit or rating - so a CPL written, INRAT, IATRA, etc. could suffice
If you have not done either of the above, a few easy options to get your 2 year recency back:
1. Take the self-paced exam - https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/aviati ... ogram.html
2. If you have been doing air exercises towards your CPL, get your flight instructor to sign your logbook as having completed your flight recency to PPL standards provided you have completed all the exercises as required to meet the PPL flight test guide.
3. Attend a TC safety seminar, conducted by TC at major centres or privately conducted by a lot of flying clubs and schools around spring time, often labelled as a Rust Remover seminar - just make sure that they are approved by Transport Canada.

Not that it matters to your question, but just to get the terminology straight; 2 years "currency", 5 years "recency".
For recency you can act as PIC or SIC, dual doesn't count. Don't let that one go, it's a pain in the a to get it back.
