HireVue Video interview
Just got the email that I've been selected for a HireVue interview.
Any intel as to what to expect, please? I'm sure its not rocket surgery, but at the same time, I don't want to f**k it up!
TIA.

Re: HireVue Video interview
If it’s your first contact, it’s just a bunch of prewritten questions and you won’t even respond with video responses. It’s a new thing they’re doing instead of a phone call at first. Extremely straight forward. Just mostly questions about your pilots license.

Re: HireVue Video interview
Uh....no. This is the full on interview not just questions about your logbook.
This is the only interview you’ll get before the Sim assessment so be prepared. It’s mostly behavioural type questions.

Re: HireVue Video interview
They use Hirevue differently from Encore.
Encore: You have questions and you have 3 minutes to answer. You do not talk directly to someone.
Jazz: Hirevue is used to record the interview so Flight Ops can take a look afterwards. The audio part is done on a phone line in order to have a quality sound track. This is the actual interview conducted by the recruiter and will lead to a sim eval invite. Consider this like a Skype interview.

Since I’m flying the King Air, does that qualify me to fly the Queen of the skies?
Re: HireVue Video interview
Well, that was easy...20 questions, no time limit. all typed: total time, eligible for a RAIC, citizenship, etc..?

Re: HireVue Video interview
The email is a new thing. It’s just 20 pre written questions on hirevue. You can expect a call soon about scheduling an actual video interview with HR, which will be replayed to flight ops through hirevue.
Re: HireVue Video interview
So, HireVue clarifications of time, licences, etc.. first; then, Thomas international's ouija board of questions. Next up, the HireVue 'face to face'..

Re: HireVue Video interview
The HR department apparently doesn’t review applications as all those details would be found in the applications.
Re: HireVue Video interview
Unless the applicant only provides a one page resume with no cover letter, simply stating they have 6000 hours of King Air time!dustyroads wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 4:40 amThe HR department apparently doesn’t review applications as all those details would be found in the applications.

Re: HireVue Video interview
These questions serve to determine whether the information submitted through the application is still accurate. This hireview can happen a few months after the last time the application was updated and the candidate could have acquired a citizenship, completed their A's, obtained an ATPL, etc... since applying.dustyroads wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 4:40 amThe HR department apparently doesn’t review applications as all those details would be found in the applications.
