I heard they can open it up in 06, but it's only due for negotiation in 07, or 08. Anyone confirm this?

Pilot pay scale increases across the board in July of each year of 1.5% making the starting wage at $35,280 in July 2006. The current contract is in effect until 2009.

I believe there are other employee groups whose contracts come up for renewal starting in 2006.

FALSE!!!! Was only a rumour. The contract is sealed until 2009. It technically could be opened at some point but I doubt the pilot group would be interested unless it was for a raise. Paying too much for 36 seats? get more of the bigger planes. I doubt anyone would be too upset if they dumped all the 36 seaters for 300s or Q 400s.

It is in the Jazz contract which I don't think you will find available on any public site.

Mr. Tamme,

As a person who is an elected [or ran for election] ACPA rep., do you think it is ethical to post the Jazz pay rates on a public forum such as this?

To be fair maybe you could post the AC rates as well?

The Jazz pay scales were freely distributed (or leaked, whichever you prefer) the day Air Canada came out of CCAA. I obtained this copy back then off another public forum. Besides this type of information is freely available from many sources that offer pay scale comparisons.

At the present time, nobody has a copy of the Air Canada pay scales (at least I don't have them). They'll most probably be included once we get an actual copy of the Collective Agreement.

The question is do people want the actual facts or will rumours suffice?

The info. may be floating around the worldwide web but my point is that as an ACPA rep. I do not think it is your place to be posting it.

I hope that when the ACPA pay scales are in print form, you or the rest of your elected officials won't get upset when they get posted for the world to see...you know what's good for the goose etc. etc.

Wow, first time that I have ever seen them.

They are embarrassingly low and out of sequence: The B737 pays more than the A320; the B787 -an aircraft the size of the A340- pays slightly more than a B767; F/As make more than RJ pilots; the EMJ -an aircraft heavier than a DC9 with a much longer range- pays a salary that I don't if I should laugh or cry at.

Why is AC one of the few that considers that bigger is better??? why didn't they made they pay scale index on years of service with a Capt scale and an FO scale.....just like BA did so that senior guys few the easy short run and the younger one flew the long ones...

who cares how much is you retirement , long sector reduce your life expectancy by a large number most pilot flying long haul don't see 80, very few see 75, almost half wont see 70.....

there is a good study out there to make you think, but I cant find the link....anybody read the article to???

Pilotbzh, check your source BA pays long haul (747+777) pilots about 17% more than short haul (320+737).
But junior sh Ca alway earn more than senior lh FO.
