YMM only. work either mornings or afternoons. one plane does YMM - YYC - Mildred Lake - YMM, the other goes to YEG with the balanced unchanged. the odd charter. pay would be somewhere between 80-110 i think depending on what scale you're on. If you don't get tired of the same route every day the job would be a good one.

80-110 must be captain, what about co-pilot?

What is Fort Mcmurray like to live in?
How far is the Airport from town?

ASICS Having just moved from Fort McMurray, I can tell you it is expensive to live there, a one bedroom apt will run you between 15-1700 monthly if you can find one. I have heard that people are paying 200 or more for a spot in a garage for their bed. Fort McMurray has all the amenities for a city of its size, and it is a 4 hour drive on the most hellish and death ridden highway to Edmonton.

The people in Fort McMurray are great, and most of them are there too work, and they do a lot of it. The airport is 5 miles from town on the south end, if you live in Timberlea or Thickwood you are looking at a 20 Km drive to work.

Syncrude employees are a very happy lot, and with the great oil prices, I figure that they were really happy this year with the profit sharing cheques they would have received.

Good luck to you if you got the call.

it would be a very good deal to find an appartment for that little there. Single rooms often go for $800. It's an expensive town.

Older Returning Pilot-

If you have to ask, you can't afford to live there...

Seriously, it is the most expensive place to live in all of Canada. The quotes you've heard for $200 cots in garages are no exageration...

An old house trailer is $300K... a tiny old house barebones is $500k... but don't worry, because you won't find ones there anyways.

City is very nice, however. I have been there many times, and looked forward to them as well. Got everything a big city does, including all the big name restaurants and shopping; and even more places to blow your cash very easily...

There are a few rotten apples there like anywhere, but as O.R.P. mentioned, the hardest working and some of the nicest folks you'll meet.
