This form of "Shameless Capitalism" has to stop. I'm no left wing nut, but my goodness...

You mean if we fire the CEO we can bring back 30k employees and pay them 34 cents an hour? That's how far his salary would stretch if you brought back 30k employees.
Is his salary huge, sure... but your comparison is ridiculous. You could pay 350 people 60k a year and ditch the CEO. Does that make you feel better?
One could argue teachers, doctors, athletes, pilots, police, realtors etc are all over or under paid. End of the day everything has a going rate and it boils down to what others are wiling to pay for those positions. Its all perspective. Clearly in your example the relationship between 30k employees and the CEO's earnings, is not an actual relationship at all.

Modern capitalism ensures profits for the top execs because they know any loses, including from their own ineptitude, will inevitably be socialized across society.

That's cronyism aka economic facism. And the only reason it exists, is because we vote for people who pander for votes and financial contributions.
Take the money out of politics, the losses won't be socialized anymore

I get what you're sentiment is...
But did he get Boeing through the Max grounding and associated troubles?
Is he making the difficult choices to maintain the viability of the company?
Is he doing his job? In fact, I would guess that he's working harder than he bargained for when he took the position.
CEOs in general make too much, even in the best times, that's a culture that should change across the board. Good times/bad times layoffs from external events like the pandemic are a separate issue. And poor decisions or management is another, such as was with the former Boeing CEO...

That would be the guy who got a $ 62,000,000.00 exit package after destroying the company and blighting the futures of tens of thousands of employees who will likely never work at Boeing again.

I wonder if the typical person who gets upset about CEO pay....
gets upset about Kim K's pay, or a top NBA basketball player, baseball player, hockey player, etc
Judge Judy's pay, $47 million per year. (she deserves it lives are on the line, when she makes a ruling about someone owing someone $500 cause that person said it was a loan not a gift)
Vanna White's pay (again, critical job)
the Friends cast,
etc,
etc.
etc

Pretty sure they do yes. I don't think anybody thinks those people really deserve those sums of money for what they do.
That doesn't mean it needs to be artifically limited, but I do wonder if that's the best way a company can or should spend their money.

Ben Smith started off as a unionized CSA. If you want to be Chief of something go and get it. Most people complaining about other people’s incomes don’t have the desire, and determination to climb the ladder. They are content with what they have. And that’s not to say a little luck doesn’t come into play.
If you think athletes are overpaid, stop buying their jerseys and stop going to games. Obviously someone has priced in the value for all these positions, and if they felt they could get the same for cheaper, they would be paying less.
Besides with Toronto home prices, 21 million sounds like just enough to get into the market

it’s definitely nothing like 21 million 30 years ago.

How did he destroy the company. Maybe a few select engineers and pilots in a small group did that and he was left to pick up the pieces. Oh wait, let me guess, he is the top guy, so he should be aware of every detail of every type of aircraft in the company and be questioning some system called MCAS.
