Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
ACPA is broken.
They are represent the company interests, not the pilots.
The line from leadership is to get along with what company managers want and need or you're gone.
Company managers literally call and say who they can and can't work with representing us.
Air Canada pilot apathy and willful ignorance is responsible for this. Reps from Vancouver, Montreal, and Winnipeg are responsible for this.
There is more to be taken out of our contract if you guys don't wake the fuçk up. Unvoted LOCs LOUs MOAs... ACPA company reps are helping the company toss what's left and get the company what it needs. Never a snap back, never a short term let... always permanent losses. They are tossing everyone that might blow the whistle on what's happening. They are doing it under the cover of covid.
Wake the fuçk up.

Sounds like you could be the one to fix it.altiplano wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 4:17 am ACPA is broken.

There's no fixing ACPA. Burn it to the ground.

+1000
ACPA has become toxic and is violating the Constitution with impunity. Burn it down.

simply_no_one wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 8:45 pm It's not complicated. If you disagree with the way the MEC Chair wants to run the Association, you're removed from your position. PW already posted on the private forum why he resigned. Maybe go have a read. A few others posted as well, including ones who were removed from their committees.
There is one vision allowed and any individuals who bring up concerns with the direction that the slight majority ruling class of the MEC is pushing, are alienated. Or highlight lack of contract enforcement for some things such as scheduling, bidding, flight safety etc.
These are not new people or inexperienced volunteers being removed. These are Chairs, and people who have been involved in ACPA for a decade or more. Individuals well respected among their peers. Not some radical group of rebels.
Give some examples of what a clash in vision entails. This is anonymous forum, gloves off, tell us your story.
We really can’t go off of hearsay shrouded in secrecy and utter vagueness.
Give us something concrete.
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
This is such a misleading statement as they get flight relief and pay for those days... the volunteer piece stops after they put their hand up to do the job. It’s a shame most are commuters and wish to stay home.

Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
Sounds like you've never volunteered for a committee before.
Speaking from experience, if you are on a committee the SMALL amount of time you might be lucky to get "paid for"... does not cover in any capacity the amount of work required that goes unpaid.
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
Ok thanks. I kind of wondered what was in it for them.
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
Huh. Imagine that. Tony wasn’t far off trying to sound the alarm of the corruption and collusion that he saw within ACPA...... or has everyone forgotten what his message was?

Tony’s message was completely destroyed by his own inane ramblings of dropping bombs, and his level of respect for anyone not having faced live fire.
Any chance that his message had of reaching his fellow pilots was destroyed by his ability to professionally and respectfully deliver it to his fellow pilots.
He came across poorly.
Cheers.

A lot of guys are there to try to make a difference and want to represent our pilots. Unfortunately those are the guys that got culled.**** wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 9:27 amOk thanks. I kind of wondered what was in it for them.
Make waves, stand up for yourself or our contract and you're gone. Go against the company line on anything and you're gone.
I think the corporation must literally have pictures of some of these guys on the MEC with transvestite hookers in their rooms on layover in Shanghai or something. It's unbelievable when you really see and hear first hand the crap they are putting over on us. They are doing such a horrible job representing our interests and following our constitution it's unbelievable. So what's the excuse? How can they be this bad? They are trying to be.
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
This is literally the most logical explanation for everything that has been going on for the past few years!!altiplano wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 12:16 pm

And to be clear, I am not saying that transvestite hookers are the leverage, but it's gotta be something big.tca wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 4:46 amThis is literally the most logical explanation for everything that has been going on for the past few years!!altiplano wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 12:16 pm

Some of our leaders are being leveraged somehow, how else could they be so bad? Or are they just that stupid over and over and over again?
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
But the actions of silencing critics, abysmal negotiating, questions of voting transparency, contravention of constitution, failing to defend existing CBA articles affecting members, avoidance of alternative ALPA information, failure of grassroots, collusion and inferences of corruption from within ACPA continue - and that’s ok because it is done with a lawyer vetted, diplomatic bulk newsletter?tailgunner wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 12:12 pm Tony’s message was completely destroyed by his own inane ramblings of dropping bombs, and his level of respect for anyone not having faced live fire.

At some point you have to let go of your hurt feelings and see where the problem continues to be.

Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
Wasn't the MEC Chair trying to sell his app to Air Canada while in his current position? That could be a million dollar deal, so really if you wanted the company to say yes.. wouldn't you use the power you have now to make their life easier (like removing DT from FSD, and low and behold now look at the LONG list of augment that was removed... so much for new fatigue regs).altiplano wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:23 amAnd to be clear, I am not saying that transvestite hookers are the leverage, but it's gotta be something big.tca wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 4:46 amThis is literally the most logical explanation for everything that has been going on for the past few years!!altiplano wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 12:16 pm

frankly i'm happy with our representation, so instead of wining on the forums, maybe volunteer and put action into your words.

if you're a red bus driver that means you're a Rougie which would make sense why you're happy. Draft on draft for the last number of years, and being paid in full since Covid happened without having to show up to work.redbusdriver wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 3:39 pm frankly i'm happy with our representation, so instead of wining on the forums, maybe volunteer and put action into your words.
I'd be happy too!
Re: ACPA getting rid of volunteers.........again?
I never come here anymore but came here now to say this. ACPA is terrible, worse than zero. MEC is in the tank for management. Only possible explanation.
