I know hiring is not for ages, but I’m FO on the Q. Is it a must to get hired with AC with PIC time? I have 380 hour piston PIC time.
I’ve heard of cases where FO’S get hired without PIC.

In the couple years just prior to Covid there were 3 main ways to get in. Come from Jazz. Come from military. Have 500 hours 705 pic. For awhile there there was also a big preference on having a degree. It's not impossible to get in without it, but the 705 pic was the big ticket item.

90% of hires will be coming from Jazz in the future.
The remaining 10% is a mix between expats, military, WS/TS/FLE/SWG. Add into the mix some school graduates (hate it or not, AC and Jazz love those candidates).
It will become harder every year to make it to big red without the Jazz ticket.

You'll make captain where ever you are well before AC get's to the point where they're hiring non turbine-PIC pilots.
