Re: Hiring DEC's
That should suck away some of the impatient, self-entitled ones at JZA, WJ, Swoop, Encore, Porter etc.
Re: Hiring DEC's
Are you saying someone leaving a regional like Jazz, Encore, Porter is impatient and entitled because they take a left seat spot on a 737? Really would like to know why that is? Do you not see that as taking a step forward for their career?Loon-A-Tic wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 11:43 am That should suck away some of the impatient, self-entitled ones at JZA, WJ, Swoop, Encore, Porter etc.
Re: Hiring DEC's
The Flair pilot CBA is available online with current terms and conditions however it is expired and contract negotiations are underway for the next CBA. Pay levels in the old contract will be subject to change by 2022
Re: Hiring DEC's
Hopefully the pay levels can be raised significantly in ‘22.
Re: Hiring DEC's
I hope so too. The junior FO pay is average, but after about year 2 they're left in the proverbial dust behind SW, and light years behind the new contract at TS. Year 4+ FO and Capt scales aren't remotely comparable between companies. I'd like to hear some speculation on what the new contract will bring, especially if they want to attract and retain some 600-700 pilots with their planned fleet?
On the plus side, haven't heard any complaints from the pilots though, so must be a decent place to work so far. That's worth it's weight in gold to some.

Re: Hiring DEC's
The only way to get DEC at Flair is to have camel jockey time.
Re: Hiring DEC's
2 questions.
Are the flights mostly turns?( no layover)
How many days at home( off duty) / month ( roughly)
Thks.

Re: Hiring DEC's
Virtually all turns, only a couple of layovers in the entire system. Pilots are home every night. Most flying block schedules vary between 15-20 days off per month and 12-13 off on reserve blocks. We don't currently have grey days so any day without duty is a GDO.
Re: Hiring DEC's
I am not aware of anyone outside of the old guard who get 20 days off per month. You'd have to be at the top of the seniority list (top 3 maybe) and do all long turns to get that much time off.

Is the company looking to change this?
Your use of the word "currently" caught my eye.

Re: Hiring DEC's
It’s nice to hear the reality instead of the enticing lure of possibly 20 days off. In other words, expect 15 days off per month at most for a long time.

Re: Hiring DEC's
First time poster here and I have caught up on a few threads so far. I am only at the beginning stages of looking at moving to Canada, and I have an ICAO ATPL at the moment (11000hrs TT, 3000PIC on B737NG/MAX). I also dont have a work permit as of now but i am working to getting the ball rolling on that.
My question is would Flair assist in getting the work permit sorted out, to make the process easier/quicker? I have seen that the converions of ICAO to Canadian licence shouldnt be too much of a hassle but the work permit seems to be the main hold up.
thx in advance!

Really short answer. No...you're on your own with this. Respectfully.

Re: Hiring DEC's
With typical overtime, what could a year one DEC expect to make year one with present contract? And how many days is per month worked on average once able to bid a monthly block?tbaylx wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 3:22 pmContract negotiations are ongoign.
