5,6,7 Pay

Post by Admiral Benson »

Could anyone share the approximate hourly rate for a NB FO on formula pay for years 5,6 and 7. I know that year 4 flat pay is roughly $85 ish but I've always wondered what the first few years of formula pay look like for someone who wants to stay narrow body and stay right seat for lifestyle/schedule,

Thank you

I have to ask.

What is the logic in these pay scales. The 3 very different airplanes pay differences are literally pennies per hour?

Pay rates are a formula based on weight and speed.

I am sure that someone besides me will find it interesting that the weight factor and mileage factor used to be the same value, when weight was in thousands of pounds, and mileage in knots. After CCAA they switched to using tons and Mach number, so the factors were adjusted accordingly.

Depends on your pay level and province- there's tax calculators online. Take off some more for pension and union. Add perdiems.

Don’t think 2% pay increase will be enough to cover inflation over the past 2 years…

Hi,

Can someone very quickly explain how the pay scales work?

I realise there is flat pay for first 4 years.

Is there a monthly minimum guarantee of hours?
Is it possible to pick up more hours on an open flight type system, or to drop hours? Any form of “banking” hours so you can fly a lighter month? Anything else you can think of to explain the ins and outs of the system?

Appreciate these may be basic questions but have been flying overseas for 20 years and looking to move back to Canada in the next 2-3, so figuring out how things work (and yes I know the pay cut will be huge but family getting older/life not all about money).

Thanks in advance.

Could someone in-the-know please explain what ‘over-seas’ and ‘nav-aid’ pay are for? Are these premiums left-over from the dark ages of flying at AC? thanks

What the EFF is the justification for the 4 years of flat pay? I made more than year 3 flying a !Navajo! in 2002!
