WestJet, Sunwing Merger in Trouble
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/duty ... -vxvmxgkvl
Steel magnate Alexei Mordashov, known as Russia’s richest man with a fortune worth US$29-billion, has been sanctioned in Europe for his ties to the Kremlin and businesses that support the war against Ukraine. He’s also in line to be an indirect shareholder in Onex Corp.’s WestJet Group, should the Toronto investment company’s proposed takeover of Sunwing Travel Group go ahead.
Mr. Mordashov owns one-third of German travel company TUI AG, which owns 49-per-cent of Sunwing and will become a part owner of the Onex subsidiary, according to the takeover deal the WestJet and Sunwing announced last week.

You’ll likely get more interest if you put this post on either WestJet or Sunwings pages. This has nothing to do with Air Canada.

It would also help if the linked article had anything to do with Westjet, or Sunwing, or a Russian oligarch.

Air Canada employees should not consider themselves immune to what's happening in their own industry.Transition9er2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 9:55 am You’ll likely get more interest if you put this post on either WestJet or Sunwings pages. This has nothing to do with Air Canada.
Re: WestJet, Sunwing Merger in Trouble
Should we duplicate every topic on avcanada into the Air Canada forum then? And also onto the Westjet forum, because they shouldn't consider themselves immune to what's happening in their own industry either. Same for the sunwing and jazz and .....Raymond Hall wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 7:31 amAir Canada employees should not consider themselves immune to what's happening in their own industry.Transition9er2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 9:55 am You’ll likely get more interest if you put this post on either WestJet or Sunwings pages. You put it in the wrong place. Just admit it.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship
