SonicBlue Office Manager now with another Tofino Airline- CA

Post by Northern Bound »

A former Sonic Office Manager is now working for Craig Air. I wonder how the residents of Tofino & ucleulet feel about that. Talk about adding insult to injury. Poor taste.

Asked if the principals of Sonicblue could start a new commercial airline, Nelson said Transport Canada would have to resolve all issues with the current company before it considered a new application from a new company.

"Another thing we'd take into consideration is the track record of the principals, and whether it's in the public interest to grant them an air operator certificate," he said.

Has it been determined who's voice it was, that remains to be seen. Too many ppl have been hurt by the people involved in this ordeal and the last thing residents want to see is this man or any of his cronies trying to get back in the market. They are slimy people.

Ok sure, fine… But Craig Air has been doing the YAZ run for what….. 2 years now? Last time I changed companies I adopted the NEW companies principles; Iv worked in the same building as Craig Air in YYJ since they came over from Alberta; and If they think someone is good enough to hire who are any of us to judge?
OR is this a personal beef going on here? I fortunately/unfortunately don’t have the slightest idea of who this new person is, nor do I have any clue about their history; but I have to admit I do find it a tad tasteless to be bringing all guns to bare on a new higher; not to mention on an operator who as far as I have seen is very competent…

Free speech IS your right and I would never try to stifle it, and if you think that it is in the worlds best interest to make a comment then by all means go ahead. However just as it is your right to make an observation it is also my right to comment on your observation; and frankly if there is something legitimately wrong you should be contacting enforcement and have THEM do THEIR job; not taking anonymous pot shots in the court of industry opinion, where ones ability to defend themselves is rendered down almost to nill…

So should none of the employees, be them pilots, ground or office workers, be hired in the industry ever again? Working for poor company doesn't make you a poor person.

Craigair safe trips to tofino?

Post by jebus »

Craigair is dedicated to safety of thier aircraft and passengers. As our company utilizes both Craigair's "King Air's" we have checked out thier maintenance background up to date and it is immpecable. We probably put 2-300 hours a year on it and never have had a complaint, We are just glad to work with such an exemplimary company. The pilots are great as well as thier office staff. Craig Air also provides backup for b.c ambulance medevacs and private medevacs so they are held to the strictest of maintenance standards. People that wonder about the safety of being a passenger on Craigair should not worry for thier safety as the aircraft and pilots are of highest standard.
Those who are slandering Criagair obviously have a personal vandetta agianst the company and there opinion should be taken no more seriously than the crap that comes out of thier mouth.
This is dedicated to the young punk and the unprofessional company he works for that is trying so hard to capture the Tofino market that they are willing to slander and degrade safe operating aviation companies that are going to be around a lot longer than a unprofessional slanderous company.
Here on Vancouver Island people want honesty and professionalism not assholism.

Arthur has been around BC aviation longer than anyone who posts on here (other than Cat...) so you should bite your tongue. Any company would be lucky to have him. Craig just got a whole bunch of new business with him on board. Good work.

I may be missing something, but sincw when is " Office Manager" deemed to be acontrolling interest in a company. TC cetainly does not hold "Office Manager's" to the same standards as CP's or Ops Managers. I do not think that an office manager should be held liable for the Regency/Sonic mess.

“Flying two or three different aircraft so that flight duty is never an issue”

Ok enlighten me; how would this be a walk around for flight duty times; As far as I knew duty times applied to ANYTHING you were doing; be it work for your company, Work for someone else (IE if you ALSO worked at McDonalds{BIG MONEY!!!}), Or even flying in your own personal plane on your time off….
Last company I was with almost had their OC suspended because one of their pilots also worked at the mill; the hrs at the mill were not being counted towards his duty times and when TC found out they have a hissyfit… Needless to say AFTER being enlightened to this fact concerning the application of duty times there wasn’t any more trouble, but id love to know how using multiple AC would allow one to go above and beyond their DT?

walker: It doesn't get you around duty time limits. It just requires a more detailed search to find those that broke the rules.
