For all you wannabes, and low timers make sure that you deduct this from your income tax

I don't quite understand the line:

"The most you can deduct for meal expenses is %50 of your claim."

What is it $15 or $7.50?

Says right there : $7.50

With the simplified method you are allowed $15 PER MEAL. But, when you total the column, only 50% qualifies. Stupid, but hey.. lol

Kinda like logging co-pilot time for an ATPL.

The TL2 usually gives me back $1500 a year. Not bad from one form.

Anything you buy that is required for work you can claim.

Here's my list:
Maps/plates
Medical
Flight test costs and written exam fees
Textbooks
Push to talk button
Fuel tester
Shoes, pants, belts, shirts, sweaters, jackets
Sunglasses
Had my NavHawk watch repaired last year, claiming it!

I've never claimed cell phone, even though I don't have a home line, and my company requires me to confirm each flight. So I probably could.

GPFG

It is important to note that just because you claimed those items successfully in the past does not mean you will not get an audit and dinged in the future. The CCRA has the right to look back 3-5 years if they feel something isn't right.

Not saying you can't claim some/all of the items you listed, just saying.

Good luck,

Neo

Company signed off on those items..I forget what the official RevCan Form # is.

My undertsanding is if the company signs the forms with those items on them, I can claim them.

Please correct me if anyone knows otherwise.
