Contract AME wages

Post by Bug_Stomper_01 »

I’m seeing lots of “urgently hiring” ads out there for contractors. The wages don’t seem that urgent to me, what is everyone offering and or billing in Canada as a contract AME these days? Would like to hear regions and all sectors of aviation.

It's basically the same amount from the last five years, rebundled. Where as they were paying 40-45$ with flights included with some sort of accomodation/perdium, now Im seeing 45-50 with $500 travel allowance, etc.

if you account for inflation, its regressed.

I saw 35-50 in yyz recently…. I didn’t think it was right at first, clicked on the link, yep it is. No mention of any allowances at all

Pretty much every contract I am seeing is $45-50 now. No one wants to go above $50, I guess that's enough these days...

Meanwhile shops in the states are paying twice that and more for contractors that have appropriate experience and training. It was $50/hr 20 years ago ffs

Good Luck getting into the US now for work.. I know many that have been turned way. and the US border patrol is onto the sneaky way a lot of agencies have been getting AMEs into the country.
I recently have seen contract wages at $50 to $55 per hour for qualified AME's

Work visa only. Anyone agreeing to sneak into the states to work is a chump

I’m seeing some small increases about ten years late happening. Anyone see anything significant?
