Re: Rainbow Washing Airlines
I could have sworn WestJet recently asked me if I was M, F, X, or none of their business when I booked. Maybe it was someone else. Porter, perhaps?
In any case, how long before someone decides that standard passenger weights are discriminatory? Did you know people who identify as female pay more per kilogram to transport themselves on an airline?

I thought you buying a seat. If Airlines started $/kg for passengers I guess we could all diet to same $. In the current scenario, if you want the most value for your hard earned money for that flat rated seat, go on a food binge a few days ahead and have a double Big Mac with a large Poutine just before you board!

Wait until they found out gender 'X' will be the same weight as a male
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Well they are usually overweight, blue or pink hair, have thick rimmed 1950s glasses and several facial piercings.

Airlines aren’t asking your gender, they are asking for your sex. This is for weight and balance purposes and nothing to do with gender. This is to meet legal obligations. If people have a problem go petition Transport Canada to get rid of weight by sex, and assign all sexes the same weight.
Why is this a problem?

The irony is airlines have probably been one of the most accepting employers of lgbq employees there is, I’d be shocked if any industry employs a higher percentage

Gender X has been available for the TC standard passengers weights for awhile now. I'm surprised the WJ software doesn't offer it.WellThatAgedWell wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:11 am Airlines aren’t asking your gender, they are asking for your sex. They all ask for gender as that is what Transport Canada's standard weights are based on.WellThatAgedWell wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:11 am Airlines aren’t asking your gender, they are asking for your sex. Re: Rainbow Washing Airlines
Change "gender" to "sex" and the problem is solved.
