Buffalo airways have been loosing guys for about a 2 years and have not realy been hiring any one to replace them. at one point a while back they would pay about 14-20 bucks an hour depending, and also payed licenced guys from 20-30 also depending on what you are worth to them. I think at there current possition they might hire the odd guy but they are extreamly slow. but a little peice of advice, i wouldent go that direction if i were you. Buffalo joe has a reputation of being extreamy hard on his employees and meen hard.

Well I have heard that they have lost some good CL-215 guys last winter over some stupid stuff. There is allot of bitter pilots and AME that I know that have worked there. Over all I would say run away dont look back. Unless your a sucker for punishment.

They do pay very well i have heared.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any helpful information regarding working at Buffalo Airways. I am not applying there right now, so no need to scare me away. The reason I want to know is because I am currently attending Canadore College in North Bay, and I have an English assignment where we are required to research a company that we could eventually work for. I've heard of Buffalo, and I know they operate some interesting machines such as the DC-3, 4, CL-215 etc. I want to get a job up north or overseas, so I figured Buffalo was as good a choice as any for the project. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Greg

If you want to go north then look at Air Tindi, the pay isn't as good but its a decent place to work.

if you've ever had pilots working for you, you'll understand why joe talks to his dog....it's probably a more intelligent conversation

To be fair though there are some who are good workers.

Especially those who are also mechanics, maybe it is the mechanic part that makes the difference?

i have worked for buffalo and left on good terms so i dont have an axe to grind! best place i ever worked except i had to live up north. if you dont want to work its not the place for you. buffalo joe is a great guy i worked hard and he bought me lunch every day he could. work hard and you will get what you deserve, i hate how people knock everythin before they try it. i would love to return but my girlfriend wouldnot allow it.

my advice, if you can deal with the north, apply, they will hire you and you will makee big $$$$$$$$

Reply to original question.

Buffalo airways private hanger in YZF, is a place any Canadian AME would appriciate. Good work experienced people, complete shop and spares support, finacial stability and a director of maintenance.
Thier private fleet, including relevant turbine equipment, service customers Canadian wide and gives competion where other operators cannot. I hope to see a couple cargo 3's, involved in the N. Sask. mineral boom/fireseason.
Work hard, not stories being the key word here. Good luck.
Seasons Greetings to All.

I also worked for Buffalo, not for the fainted heart, hard work and smarts is the only thing that most people in this company respect. Good money, some of the best mechanics I have ever worked with. I have heard alot of bad stories about Joe but I have never had a personal problem with him, always treated me good. I actually think that it is a good place for someone to get started in.
