IN all my training it has always been on aircraft with a rotation speed of over 95kts. A couple of times i have seen it put on a 208 but that was just preventative maintenance. try the kryotech company, they are the one who we purchase out type 1 and 4 from.

Type 4 is for aircraft with rotation speeds in excess of 100 knots unless otherwise permitted as per manufacturer's specs. For example on the Dash 7 we rotate at max weight at only 85 knots but can use Type 4 due to a service letter amendment to the AFM put out by deHavilland.

If you are looking for a general overview on Type 4 then you should view the "Ground Operations Update" put out by TC (sorry, I don't have a link) but be aware that some aircraft are exempt.

Hope this helps,

Steve

You'll need to speak to your Aircraft Manufacter, for that one. There are certain A/C with rotation speeds below 100 knts that are permitted, that comes directly from the aircraft manufacter. Ex. would be the C-208 that has a specific procedure for take off.

Type II and Type IV below 100 knots is a contaminate because it shears roughly at 100 knots leaving a clean wing.

Hope this helps.
