Nexjet

Post by tmcmahon »

Can anyone here PM me with information on how long Nexjet was operating out of Vancouver? Were they new there? I know they're from Ontario. Any other background info on the company is appreciated.
Is it correct that the owner or someone from the company is on this board?

Cheers,
Tamsin

Anyone wishing to help out a journalist who really is looking into the problems in Canadian Aviation at the bottom level should help Tasmin.

Having spent considerable time talking to her I don't think we will find anyone more dedicated to getting to the truth.

Funny, I checked out Flightaware but it couldn't find 'NexJet'. Do you know what I should be typing in?

They were using the aircraft registrations, not a call sign. Try these registration in the flight/tail # slot.

C-GAKM
C-GJMT
C-GSJP

You should register (its free) and you will see when they flew out west (middle of the night...stopping in Winnipeg, Brandon, Lethbridge for fuel) starting the end of January.

some ppl have too much time on their hands to worry about a non operational company.. try worrying about the ones who are in business... I can think of a few in the cyoo-cyyz corridor, not to mention out on the west coast.. and well everywhere else in between...

Hello nexjet? Can you send a jet? And then a clapped out old shithacker navajo shows up on short final with 2 and a 1/2 wheels down. Did they ever even clean the lav's on anything with a fan attached to it?

Oh well, whatever. :D

I don't think their name was misleading. This is how I understand it...

As soon as they sell enough PPC's their next airplane will be a jet...hence NexJet.

Pretty simple to me

That is what tmcmahon is working on, she is a newspaper journalist and needs some intelligent information.

Maybe if more of us tried to help her she may be able to find out some of what has gone wrong with this industry...

..and yes I have talked to her an many occasions and I believe she genuinely wants to get to the truth.

Maybe she can post some of her findings and prompt a little more interest in this thread. It will likely bring out some posters who have inside knowledge. Maybe even TC lurkers will jump in. I think there is much much more to this story, but why such little interest here??? Come on ex-RXX/Nexjeter's, spill the beans!

The last interesting post on this was when someone said that the boys from TC in the fancy blue jackets were ramping aircraft at YVR...then a few days later the company was gone.

If and when TC ramps aircraft with reason to believe there is non compliance with the regulations ( rather than random fishing for non compliance ) they are doing what their job requires.

And therefore we as an industry should assist them in their investigations.

I hope someone with inside knowledge helps this reporter out.

Madam

Check out the web site there are still names on it you can talk to. How about the Government Affairs guy. Why does a small airline need such a title. Also some of the quiting pilots have their private numbers listed why not call them. The rumor in BC is that he has already started another airline and coming back in a few weeks with a front man.

The Courier companies feed off the bottom-feeding air operators. They attract each other like snot and a play school desk.

Sleezbag operators attract young low time pilots because they are always hiring due to the extreme attrition rate, and their hiring standards are minimal. They attract each other like pizza and a white shirt.

Low-time pilots are willing to fly any piece of crap aircraft, especially a twin simply to get the time in their log book. They attract each other like Mr. Lion and Mr. Gnu.

Maybe this industry can wake up and reduce the risks by forcing rates up so we can afford to fly aircraft that are maintained. We can refuse to bend to the pressures of an owner simply in the game for a buck and willing to abuse everyone and everything in his path.

Maybe pilots and AMEs will do their part in keeping their bosses, co-workers and competion honest by mustering up the coureage to report their concerns to TC, the media, and many other regulatory authorities before the fatality...rather than after.

Maybe TC can find the balls to clamp down on this segment of the industy. This should include making the customer accountable when they are the ones imposing unsafe pressures on the pilot to fly over-weight, or dispatch into bad weather, known iceing, and/or with defects because the penalties when delivery times are not met are so steep they could backrupt the operator.
