Jazz Approach state

Post by JazzWannabe »

I am considering the Jazz Approach program and had been reading the CAE and Jazz websites. The CAE website mentioned the class start date will be Fall 2022. Anyone heard back from them? Or is it a goner again like 2020? Recently, the CAE website even removed the points about their partnership with Seneca. Looks like a bad sign to me. Anyone can shed a light? Thanks!

Any news coming from this program?
I heard the Fall intake was cancelled
They are having in-house info session in Vancouver?
Would be good if someone from there to take some info.
Thanks

Guys, do not waste your money. You have a better shot at getting to jazz through an accredited college than this "program".

Lol what a joke. You can get hired at Jazz now with like 1000 hours just go get your license and flog a Navajo or 206 around for a year.

I am only aware of one <1000 hour pilot planned for a GS between now and end of year. Does not mean there are not others. Most likely these are the college cadre.

OTS hiring is still focused on ATPL and/or previous 705 experience.

Issue is whether the Jazz application drawer contains many of these types of applications.

As for the ‘Jazz Approach’ - if I was asked by someone looking to get in to the profession, it would not be my recommended path.

I know multiple pilots in the process right now that have 1000 +- total time. Some have interviewed already some have just been contacted within the last few weeks. So their focus is clearly changing.

So what about for those wanting to change career?
Right now, many airlines are hiring with iATPL+250 Hrs with IATRA/SAMRON but we don't know how it gonna be for the next 2 years.
May be they have a good reason to try this program?
I don't think a 2022 F/O from big regional airliners (with +7% inflation) is earning g 39K/years.It has been probably upgraded somewhere between +50/60K.
Would be good if someone can pick more face-to-face Vancouver info session.

Thanks :)

No way 😯,Tim Hortons workers now have more than that.
I still doubt but I will check.
This is impossible to be live with that earn with ~$150K debt.
What would be the benefit of being a F/O there then?

Simple just don't join the program or fly for the airline. Park their planes and see how they capture their summer flying next year.

I had a better plan in mind but I'm not sure if that's gonna work well in the future. I'm currently getting my degree in BComm avaition which includes flight training also. It's a four year program that atleast garuntees an interview at Porter if I quickly build my hours upto a thousand or so. For instance I get hired by them, I'll stay there until I get some hours on the E2 then move to a cargo airline like morningstar or directly to AC if I get called by them. But surely I won't even bother applying at Jazz for many reasons one of them being that it's low payed like how come do you guys still expect to rent a place to live near YYZ with a biweekly check of $1100, I won't include perdiems or any overtime but seriously it's just toxic to stay at a place like that. I would say flying the 737 would be great up-north than to stay broke in an urban city

Spread the word. $2200/month is true.

I just have few years (<5) of experience in Engineering field(very complex stuffs - no routine).
I almost have the double of that 1 year captain (cash/after tax). I
have no student loan to pay but I'm still complaining and have a big to those in flight deck.
The grass seems not to be greener over there and I feel I have a lot to learn.
All of the countries I heard cadets are paid higher than that when compared to life expenses.
I think airline pilot job is a stressful/ complex as well which makes it tough though, so the salary must follow up from that.
It seems that this program is not that popular but also there seems to be so many hidden info.
People feel scared of this 126K+tax+loan interest.

. Don’t trust jazz, if they can’t honour flow I highly doubt they will %100 honour offering pilot positions in this program. Be careful!
