It Is a Great Flying Day! Did You?
Beee-ooo-tiful day for flying in good ol' Southern Ont. Did you?
Light southern breeze at Brampton this morning, temps around 5C. Clear but for the haze frequently present when you're near The Big Smoke. But very light today. No bother. Better in the practice area to the north, tho.
Spiral dive practice from 5,000 ft. Kept it easy, 'cause my back's still sore and a bit stiff from being thrown by that #@#$@& horse last weekend. Otherwise, no probs! Just gotta accelerate my recoveries. Next week we'll finish the lesson off.
A nice, take-your-time-and-enjoy-the-day flight out and back. Smooth flying. Did a couple of circuits/touch-and-go's. Yikes! That was close! Beautiful brown hawk took a nosedive just short of a 90 degree collision with the prop. He and his lady were doing floating circles 1,700 ft. above a field, watching for lunchtime mice.
Time's up. Don't want to land. Oh, well. Back to land. Dispatch desk has a sign posted warning to watch for circuit entries from anywhere. Seems it's a thing to be aware of when circuit traffic thickens. (Brampton's uncontrolled.) Hopes for more gorgeous Spring next weekend.

Beautiful day here in Montreal as well, flew to Mirabel for a practice ifr flight in the school's Aztec, so I spent most of the flight looking inside with a map in the windshield. I was kept pretty busy thanks to my instructor and ATC, also hit some really bumpy turbulence but I had a good flight. Now I've got a couple more instrument hours before the ride with TC, and I should have my IFR rating in my pocket in a couple of weeks!

So the dude on the reserve shoots his neighbour's dog. Why? Because he said he missed and was trying to kill the other one. Dog has to go to vet or he will die. We fly the dog to the vet. Better question is you enjoy paying taxes? Good...then there will be no end to northern aviation...
Just a beautiful day up here....

Anonymous1, it has been thus for as long as the white man has flown aircraft into northern reserves.
I look at it as a sanitized welfare scheme thought up by the bureaucrats in Ottawa to support aviation.
Now if we could find some means to get at the billions that go to support the drones in Ottawa and get that money funneled into northern aviation every bush pilot could own his own personal jet and hire more pilots to fly them around managing the reserves and the flow of pop and chips.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Was a beauitful day! But ATC was short handed today and refused entry to thier airspace...
Hey Buddy,
Just another typical day in the T Dot. Pay your taxes dont get the service. Dont worry when Jazz calls you'll be ok

I remember all 2 well - Sorry 170 kt restriction your in trail of a Dash

Cheers mate
Had a great day flying a new high performance ultralight called the Sportstar.
Great bird with amazing visibility, really light on the controls and 100 horses of fuel injected fury tugging us along. First ultralight I have flown with leather seats, electric trim and variable pitch prop! Flew over Lake Orr, Wasaga Beach and the ski slopes. Still a lot of snow around. Check out the aircraft on http://www.edenflight.com

Didn't go flying today, nor all winter long. Last time I went up must've been back In October can you FRIGGIN BELIEVE THAT?!?!
However this summer season I'll prolly fly more than ever before (most of it gliding), making those long winter months of full time work on weekends worthwhile.
Still dying to get my hands on an airplane though, soon... soon..

Flew the Beaver loaded to the nuts with logger shit over the Ocean while watching the 40+kt winds on the water down below. Then it was into the mountains where we got the ever lovin shit beat out of us,
Lucky for me, I got back to find out I would get to do it all over again, in a Cessna.
Flying Sucks!
I'm going back to school.

Springbok, your from that area of ontario? The escarpment is a beautiful area to fly. Especially in those little neat looking things.....must have been fun.
She’s built like a Steakhouse, but she handles like a Bistro.

Yup I got up today…And I’ve been flying my ass off for a couple weeks now in England. Took a Job shooting aerial photos for a couple months before I start again back home in Canada. Yesterday was amazing on the coastline west of Bristol. In a 172RG. With the low power settings we use working we can stay up all day! Yesterday 7 hours 10 min chock to chock. The boss figures the diesel converted 172’s we just got online should be able to do 11 hours in one lift. I refuse to piss in a bottle so I think 7 or 8 hours is enough for 1 flight.
Diesel engine conversion is the smoothest engine I have ever flown behind! Its as easy to start and run as a modern car. http://www.centurion-engines.com
