Got the letter!

Post by neophyte »

Well...

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. I opened the mailbox today and found the dreaded letter. It appears it is all over but the crying for me.

However, the world continues to spin.

Best of luck to everyone.

Sorry about your luck. Were you going for Jazz or AC?

Just remember...

There are other companies out there that will still give you a great flying career. When one door closes, another will open!

Good luck!

Really sorry to hear that.

I did my interview late last month and no letter yet in my mail slot.

My question to you is: did you only do the interview, waited a few weeks and then got the letter or did you do all three (interview, sim eval and medical) then the letter.

Thanks
(Inquiring minds would like to know)

Neo,
Sorry to hear that but it's not the end of the world. Not very many people go through this industry and have no scars to show for it.
There are other good flying jobs out there and abroad as well.Take a look at Westjet, Skyservice and some corporate jobs.Something will come up , it always does.

Cheers,

Bede: It was for mainline.

YVR Dude: I know what you say is true but the world is a gloomy place today.

Protecting: I interviewed about 2 months ago (testing and medical as well). I figured that I had survived the "first 3 weeks" but it turns out I figured wrong.

Bon chance

WF9F: Thank you also. I have no desire to leave YYZ so abroad is out. Sky appears to be laying off at the present, I guess that leaves corp. It is just hard to swallow that you will never attain your dream job. I guess it is time to start dreaming again. BTW what does WF9F mean?

Hey Neo.
I had a friend in the same boat as you back in 2001 and he was not successful at Mainline and was quite distraught over the whole thing which is very normal. He managed to find his dream job several months later and is doing just great. Don't give up! :)

One of my former Chief Pilots i believe was interviewed, simed etc. at AC a while ago back in the 90's and didnt get hired. Low and behold I saw his name on the new hires list this time around. Keep plugging away and keep on sending in a resume.

I imagine you'll be able to keep the resume on file and up to date and hope for another shot. Otherwise, keep your head up and keep on truckin'. Heard that psych test is a bit of a doozy, good and sane friends have been roadblocked there, at least thats what could only have been as interview/cog went well.

Wow,

I thought that at 3 weeks people were safe.

Anyone else heard of PFOs after 3 weeks? I heard of one after 4 months.

Neo,sorry about the news. :( All is not lost, you will have the same opportunity again, you'll have to wait one year to be reconsidered. Not long in the big picture. What are you doing now, and where do you think you went wrong. :?:

LuckyPilot,

It is 6 months to try again, my resume is all set and dated for that time, I can't wait for round 2. All I have to do is get up from my first round knock down;)

I only wish I knew what went wrong. It wasn't the medical because they skipped that for the most part. You see I did one for jazz a while back and they are identical, they keep both companies files together.

Stay tuned for the sequel.

neo,

Ever thought of going to Jazz, and biding you're time. At least you're guaranteed an interview again.

Keep your head up.

Wierd story I heard last week. A guy I went to school with got the PFO from the interview, then a few weeks later he got THE call. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the whole process. It could be a bunch of people wearing blindfolds throwing darts?
