Schedule
I have heard very broad statements about how the schedule goes but I am wondering if anyone could share with me what a junior FO schedule at the CYEG base is like.

Re: Schedule
Being a new FO at any base will be the same, once you are done line indoc, 18 days a month of reserve. The rest will be guaranteed days off. You can bid for your reserve schedule, so what actual days on and what actual days off will depend on what other senior people bid for. After that it depends what you want out of life, but by april YEG will open right up and if you started today, you'd likely be around 50% seniority within 6 months because a bunch of YEG FOs will be taking YYC. With that seniority again it depends what you bid for, If you want to fly lots you will be able to hold mostly 4 leg days or shorter US flights and will likely work around 12 days a month, If you want weekends off and don't care about hours you can still bid reserve and will get a nice easy schedule but still be on reserve 18 days a month. By the time you are there 2 years you will be able to fly out your block in 8-10 days and have 20 days a month off.

Re: Schedule
ALPA is doing a coast to coast road show to present the agreement to the members, after that we will get to vote on it. Assuming those numbers are what's inside, and assuming the majority votes for it, then yes I guess it will be. We haven't seen anything yet so who knows.Blueontop wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:43 pmThis is captain yr1 pay?Apestogetherstrong wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 6:43 pm Dont know about the schedule. Re: Schedule
But before you guys vote. Me must also have a look at what the whole pay scale structure is like and for how many years would that last. The reason I'm pointing that out, well what if the first year pay is 90k and the rest of the years upto 10 years less or more would only rise to 100-110k then its not worth it, if upgrade times are higher our FO's would have to plan on living with that. Again not too bad, although living on 90-110k is okay we must also see significant increment gains each year.co-joe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 10:23 pmALPA is doing a coast to coast road show to present the agreement to the members, after that we will get to vote on it. Re: Schedule
While that's less than a first year FO in the US, it's one of the highest in Canada for starting pay for captains.

Can you please site your source?
Re: Schedule
AA/DL/UA/SWA/FEDEX/UPS - Typical FO starting pay is around US$100k. Second year NB FO pay is around US$150-165k.TC.Enforcement wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 6:06 pm

Paying a 737 CA C$146k is nothing to brag about. At least starting pay on the 737 at AC is C$200/hr (which is still not enough).

Re: Schedule
Off the top of my head, Envoy, Peidmont, PSA are all giving 75-100k signing bonuses. These are bottom level regionals and their pay is higher.

This is just a snippet. You can find many more on the same level as well.

Re: Schedule
Interesting. Is this something that is attainable in Canada though? We don't seem to have the same level of competition when it comes to employers that exists State side. It's mainly AC and WJ for now, with a couple smaller options (Porter, Flair, etc).

Where is the TA?
Re: Schedule
I was looking for a unicorn... I guess this will do.

In all seriousness, I guess they get the TA at the Roadshow taking place this evening.
Kind of weird. Guess they aren't as proud as Delta. Makes sense though.
