Miscellaneous question for those who are computer literate..

Post by . ._ »

I was wondering if there is a way to "freeze frame" a movie that's been downloaded and save that frame as a file. To be printed, photoshopped etc.

Well, I know it can be done, but I can't figure out how to do it. :?

Could someone gimme a hand?

:smt038 No, not that one.

Thanks.

Ctrl-Alt-Print Screen works for Willie. Then paste it into paint shop pro or photoshop, something like that.

There is also a decent freeware program called Screenhunter that does a great job.

If you are capturing from a movie, you may need to play with your video acceleration settings in media player. This is all thanks to a government- paid computer course that I took to get out of AA meetings, so no need to thank me, you paid for it.

"Print Scrn" will work in a jiffy. It auto-copies whatever is on your screen to your clipboard which can be opened in MS Paint as a .bmp.

You can then convert to a .jpg and have at her in Photoshop.

There are screen-cap utilities out there but I'll be damned if I know how to use them :?

Hey Willie,

How do you mess with the video acceleration rates? I downloaded the freeware, and tried it with Media Player, but it didn't work...

Mi-gwetch' anyways.

What are you using to play the movies? Windows Movie Maker may allow this and is free with Windows XP. ATI's MultiMedia Center I think will also let you do this. If you're willing to spend $100, you could pick up Adobe Premiere Elements that will give you lots of video editing goodies to play with.
